Farmington is located in the foothills of the countryside, in the west central state of Maine. Farmington is part of Franklin County, where the University of Maine is located. The main employers are the University, Franklin Memorial Hospital, ICT Group, Verso Paper. Forestry and agriculture-related industries are also an important part of the local economy.
Foreign students live in host families, specially selected by the institution to organize a comfortable and safe stay. Accommodation in the family allows you to get a diverse cultural experience, improve language skills, and take part in family leisure.
Pupils live in private rooms and enjoy all the comforts in the house - bathroom, kitchen, cable TV, Internet. An important part of life in a host family is participation in household chores — cleaning your own room, sharing meals, walking, watching TV. Homeowners help students explore the new city, explore local traditions and customs.
Mt.Blue High School provides students with various summer and winter sports activities: team games include football, cross country, golf, field hockey, football, basketball, downhill skiing, wrestling, baseball, softball, athletics, tennis and lacrosse . Students can participate in clubs and organizations by becoming active members of the campus community:
All students are provided with an Apple MacBook Air for daily use: every evening you can take it home, which allows students to make the most of their free time to prepare classes and do independent work.
