The University was established in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the Central Committee of the CPSU of October 12, 1953 as the All-Union Correspondence Institute of Food Industry. The University is one of the leading higher educational institutions of the country, providing training of sought-after personnel in the field of food and processing, textile and light industry.

Moscow State University named after K.G. Razumovsky (PKU) is the basic educational organization of the Council for Cossack Affairs under the President of the Russian Federation. 

The founder of the university is the Russian Federation, the functions and powers of which are carried out by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

MSUTU named after K.G. Razumovsky (PKU) has 13 regional institutes (branches).

The organization of the educational process, the beginning and end of the academic year, the duration and duration of training in the relevant areas of training are regulated by the annual calendar educational schedule, the working curriculum.

• At the request of PJSC LUKOIL, work was carried out on the topic "Development of a scientifically based standard for the MPC of oil-degrading preparations Soilin-P and Soilin-S for marine and freshwater reservoirs for fishery purposes". 
• A contract was implemented with JSC "Karelian Okatysh" on the topic "Development of regional standards (MPC), sulfate-ion, potassium, nitrate-ion, magnesium, manganese for Lake Okunevoe, sulfate-ion and manganese for the Bezymianny stream.
• The research work on the topic "Determination of the bioproductive capabilities of water bodies of the Ulagansky district of the Altai Republic" was commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Altai Republic.
• The research work on the topic "Testing of an experimental batch of feed at aquaculture facilities" was carried out by order of BIFF BIOS FISH FEED LLC. 

The scientific reserve of the university allowed to implement 2 projects in the field of school feeding:

• Conducting an audit of the organization of nutrition of students, within the framework of the reference group of general educational institutions of the city of Moscow, the development of a system of scientifically based requirements for organizational, technological and control procedures for the organization of nutrition on the basis of food rations for the intended purpose,
• Development of a regional standard for the provision of hot meals to students of state and municipal general educational institutions of the Lipetsk region based on the results of the audit of school feeding system facilities. 

Within the framework of cooperation with the REC "Russian Arctic. New Materials, Technologies and Research Methods" a team of scientists from the University has implemented two major research projects: 

• Development of technologies for long-term storage of products with a targeted nutrient composition from local Arctic raw materials for food enterprises in the region. 
• Production of multifunctional products and individual rations from local raw materials based on a digital nutrition monitoring system for organized groups engaged in labor activities in the Arctic zone. 

The University has developed and transferred to production a technology for the manufacture of nanostructured adjuvant to enhance the immunogenicity of veterinary vaccines. 

In 2021, the university for the first time entered the international ranking QS World University Rankings in the region "Developing Europe and Central Asia", and also improved its position in key national rankings:

• Rating of monitoring the effectiveness of universities and the National Ranking: transition from the second to the first league;
• Transfer from the second league to the first league in the direction of "Economy" and to the premier league in the field of "Biotechnology";
• In the national rating OF INTERFAX, the University rose by 8 positions in the consolidated ranking, by 20 positions in the category "Research". 

The University develops international cooperation and continues the process of integration into the world scientific and educational space: it cooperates and implements joint projects with more than 25 partner universities from 15 countries.

Moscow State University named after K.G. Razumovsky provides students with the opportunity to live in dormitories in Moscow. The main dormitory of the university is located at: Klinskaya Street, 8b. Also, nonresident and foreign students can settle in the hostel of the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology - MBA named after K.I. Scriabin. 

Meals are organized in two canteens, in total they are designed for 170 seats.

Students of the university in the framework of extracurricular activities take an active part in inter-university, city, regional, all-Russian and international events.

As part of the work of the clusters of continuous Cossack education of Moscow and the Moscow region, the university organizes a wide range of events for the patriotic education of Cossack students, including those dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, historical days of Cossack glory, spiritual and moral education of the Cossacks.

The university has six educational buildings to ensure the educational process.

The classroom fund provides the university's need for premises for lecture and seminar-type training sessions, project activities and independent work of students, group and individual counseling, current control and intermediate certification, including:

• 3 assembly halls;
• 82 classrooms for lectures and seminars;
• 48 classrooms for seminars, 18 of which are equipped with computers with access to the electronic information environment of the University and the Internet;
• 25 classrooms for laboratory work and practical exercises, master classes on court hearing;

• language laboratories. 

Classrooms are equipped with multimedia equipment, 10 classrooms provide the opportunity to conduct training sessions online, with broadcast to the branches of the University.

The sports base of the university is represented by the sports and recreation complex "Universitetskiy" (equipped with a gym, recreational facilities, showers and toilets) and a sports hall at Kostomarovskaya embankment, 29, bld. 1.

The University signed a contract for the provision of medical care under the program with LLC "Managing Medical Company" The university has created conditions for the provision of pre-medical care to students and employees in the building of the Physical Culture and Recreation Complex with a swimming pool.

The territory of the university corresponds to the conditions of unimpeded, safe and convenient movement of students with limited mobility.

The scientific library of the University in Moscow covers an area of more than 368.4 square meters, the reading room of which includes 15 seats equipped with computers. The total fund of the library is 622,518 copies. The fund includes literature in accordance with the curricula, information publications, scientific literature on the profile of the university, magazines, newspapers.

The school year begins on September 1 and ends in accordance with the curriculum of the relevant educational program. 

The total duration of the holidays during the school year is from 2 to 10 weeks.

In addition to tuition fees, additional expenses for university students may include: accommodation (for non-residents), travel and food expenses, leisure and other expenses.

Every year, about 3,000 applicants enter higher education programs at MSUTU, half of whom study at the head university. 

One of the priority activities at the university is to carry out employment activities. A career agency has been created, events are being held on consulting work, informing about the state of the labor market, on career design technologies, organizing internships, and presenting companies. 

One of the activities of the agency is the organization of joint events with employers. Within the framework of this direction, job fairs are held annually, the possibility of which allows you to rationally combine the interests of employers and student youth.
