MPI FSB is one of the oldest military educational institutions of the Border Service of Russia.

Cadets of the MPI FSB live on the territory of the university, for the entire period of study they are provided with free accommodation, meals and clothing (uniform). The barracks are equipped with rooms for rest and sleep, leisure rooms, sports facilities and household premises (laundry, bathroom, shower).
Meals are 3 meals a day, the menu is varied, includes meat or fish products, vegetables, fruits, cereals, etc.

MPI FSB is located in the North-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow. On the territory of the Institute there are educational buildings, a residential building, a canteen, sports facilities, shooting ranges and a shooting range. Classrooms are located in the educational and administrative buildings: classrooms are equipped with modern multimedia and computer equipment, practical classes, military simulators and laboratories are separately equipped.
Cadets are given free access to the library.

Admission dates and extra charges
The academic year begins in the first half of September and is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. Classes are held according to the schedule of a six-day working week. The beginning of classes is in accordance with the schedule of study groups.
At the end of each semester, an examination session is held. Cadets are provided with vacations: winter (January) and summer (July-August).
Additional expenses are for personal needs.
Enrolment process
First of all, those wishing to enter the MPI FSB for education as a cadet are obliged to submit an application to the security agencies of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation at the place of residence before April 1. The following package of documents must be attached to the application:
- birth certificate (copy);
- identity and citizenship document (passport, copy);
- autobiography;
- characteristics from the place of study, work or military service;
- a document on education and (or) on qualifications confirming it (certificate or diploma, copy);
- 4 photographs (6 x 4 cm);
- service card of a serviceman (if any);
- certificate of education or the period of study (for students in educational institutions of secondary vocational and higher education).
The admissions committee checks the level of physical fitness of the candidate: endurance, speed and physical strength. A psychological analysis of each candidate is also carried out.
Perspectives
Cadets graduate from the MPI FSB with the rank of lieutenant and undergo mandatory distribution for the passage of the minimum contract or military service in the security agencies.
Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
To successfully pass the MPI FSB, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Excellent physical fitness;
- Health;
- Successful completion of internal tests of the university;
- Completed secondary general education (11 classes) or secondary vocational education;
- High results of the exam.
In addition, applicants to study at the Institute must undergo a mandatory diagnostic health test.
