The prestigious private boarding school Malvern College can now offer teenagers one of the best football programs in the country, as their partner has become the renowned Chelsea FC! What's more, this is the first course of this format in the region (Worcestershire county).
How the «Football + Studies» program works
The specialized course is designed for students aged 11-19, and both boys and girls can enroll. Chelsea FC will provide its training methods, qualified coaches, and a training plan:
- Technical and tactical sessions,
- Strength training,
- General physical conditioning and endurance,
- Work on speed, agility, and mobility,
- Proper rest and recovery, resilience to workloads,
- An athlete's nutrition rules,
- Developing leadership qualities,
- Sports psychology.
Importantly, this is not just a football camp: it is a full, balanced academic program, during which students will both train and complete an academic course — GCSE, A-level, or the International Baccalaureate. Each footballer will receive their own development plan, analysis of training sessions and matches, personal advice, and will take part in competitions representing the school.
Who can apply for the program?
Selection for the course will be competitive: the admissions committee will assess football skills, readiness for training, attentiveness to guidance and instructions, sporting potential — and the ability to combine physical and academic development.
The first selection round is planned for January 2027. Several Sports Scholarships are available: they are designed for admission at ages 11+, 13+, and 16+, and are awarded on the basis of outstanding sporting ability, achievements, and potential.
