Maidwell Hall School is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls from 4 to 13 years old. It is a Christian school, open to representatives of all faiths.

From the fifth grade onwards, 50 per cent of pupils who attend school live on a boarding basis: 20 per cent of them are enrolled in full-time boarding and 80 per cent are in weekly or flexible boarding.

Supporting traditional values, MHS implements modern educational practices, children are taught in small classes by subject specialists.

MHS is part of the Uppingham Group of Schools: a strong relationship with Uppingham provides MHS students with access to a wide range of opportunities and experiences.

At the heart of the school estate is a 17th-century manor house, which offers a warm and welcoming environment where children feel at home: classrooms and bedrooms can be found here, including modern amenities.

The school curriculum is based on the ISEB National Curriculum and General Admission Curriculum with some additions and variations, it emphasizes Christian social morality and includes PSHE, OBJ, French and Latin. Each student can participate in ten or more different extracurricular academic activities or clubs.

Compulsory school subjects: English and French, Mathematics, Fine Arts, History, ICT, Science, Geography, Latin, Music, Religious Teaching. In addition, students attend weekly lessons in physical education and health and safety.

Variations of student accommodation on the MHS site:

• Boarding two or three days a week is available to all pupils from the third grade.
• Guests can choose between two nights (Thursday and Friday) or three nights (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
• Two-week boarding is available from fifth grade.
• Residences can accommodate from three to eight people in one room. Children are allowed to personalize their space with toys, posters, photographs and bedding from home.
• The guesthouse has separate areas for boys and girls, each with its own common room. There is also a common area where children socialize and drink warm cocoa before going to bed.

MHS students are assigned to one of four residences: Ash, Beech, Oak and Pine. Parents, boarding staff and GAP caregivers spend time with the children in the evenings, reading fairy tales, playing games with them. At night, there are adult educators on the territory of the residential buildings, ready to help in any situation, which ensures safety and comfort, a happy home environment, where children are always well cared for.

MHS offers a friendly introductory program for new students, which includes a tour of the residences, an explanation of the evening and morning routine, and an introduction to the residence staff.

At Maidwell Hall School, three meals a day are organized, and afternoon snacks are provided. Employees strictly monitor the quality of products, focusing on seasonal and local ingredients: yoghurts, soups, salads and desserts are offered daily, fresh vegetables and fruits, drinking water are available around the clock.

Throughout the school year, Maidwell Hall School hosts home competitions in rugby, hockey, football, netball, cricket, rounders, golf, cross country, shooting and croquet. The residencies compete in debates, general knowledge quizzes, chess, Monopoly, video games, and a singing competition.

On Saturday mornings, all students also have a full class schedule. Sports activities are often held in the afternoons, and play activities are held for children who do not participate in them. On weekends, children can also do their own thing on the school grounds: this is a great time when they can walk around the area, climb trees, play and swing on swings, hanging ropes, invent their own games, and on Saturday evenings gather for movies in the common room.

Throughout the year, there are general cozy events: discos, lotto, barbecues, roasting marshmallows by the fire.

In order to enroll in the preparatory school, children with their parents must attend the Orientation Day: it is designed to provide the school with academic information about future students, during the event there are academic tests and a brief interview with the principal. After successfully completing the stages of the Introductory Day, applicants are sent an official offer, which requires filling out a consent form and paying a deposit to secure a place.

After graduating from Maidwell Hall School, graduates have good prospects for admission to leading colleges and schools in the UK, for example, Eton College, Harrow School, Oundle School, Radley, Uppingham School, and others.

To enroll in MHS, an applicant needs to pass tests in two subjects: English and Mathematics. In addition, it is necessary to provide letters of recommendation from the previous school and an assessment report, if available.

Foundation Awards (for students with weekly or flexible boarding):

• Aims to increase access to education at MHS for talented children from disadvantaged backgrounds who can make the most of weekly or flexible boarding and will thrive in school. They are provided upon admission to the seventh grade. The scholarship allows parents to receive financial support of up to 1000% of the cost of weekly/flexible boarding.
• Applicants must have a clear need for boarding and scholarship support.

Special Scholarships:

• At the choice of the CEO, children from 4 to 6 years old can be provided with a special scholarship, which depends on their wealth. Such awards are rare and are intended for recipients from disadvantaged or difficult backgrounds who can demonstrate that the scholarship is essential to the successful development of the child.
