After six years of holding the championship in the ranking of the best student cities in the world, London has given way to the capital of another state. This year, the compilers of the QS Best Student Cities ranking put Seoul on the winner's pedestal, the English capital occupied the third position in the list, and Tokyo was on the second.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education of South Korea have already commented on the landmark achievement. The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister himself said that the status of the leader of the international ranking is a great honor. Experts of the global educational market note that this event is no longer so shocking to the specialized community, since such changes in the ranking of universities once again emphasize that the attractiveness of Asia as an educational center for international students continues to grow. While Europe and the United States introduce additional restrictions and checks at the stage of applying for a visa, Asian states, on the contrary, offer foreign applicants various support measures to ensure that their admission and relocation abroad are quick and easy. So the positions of British universities in the international tops are rapidly declining, and this process affects not only London educational centers, but also universities from other cities in England and the United Kingdom as a whole.
According to QS, Seoul universities such as Seoul National University,Yonsei University, and Korea University are among the top 100 leading universities in the world. Today, there are 200,000 + foreigners studying in South Korea.
