Pupils of Kirkham Grammar School live in comfortable spaces, where family and community values unite all who join the "home away from home". Since there is only one boarding school in the school, the students get to know each other well, everyone contributes to the happy atmosphere that reigns in the House.

Boarding at Kirkham Grammar School is flexible, offering full-time or weekly places (sometimes one-time boarding is possible, depending on availability). Kirkham Grammar School can offer a trial night for any student considering boarding. The boarding house is organized in such a way as to provide co-education in recreation areas and a public area. For both girls and boys, there are study bedrooms or small dormitories; Junior students will be accommodated in rooms of up to four people, while older students will be accommodated in small classrooms or single rooms.

The pension has its own communal areas, including a living room and a TV room, and guests have access to computers with internet access and printers.

Outside of school hours, boarders enjoy excellent school facilities, visiting the library every evening for classes, a gym, an all-weather playground for relaxation and a fitness room for education.

The KGS Breakfast Club is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. and offers a wide variety of meals, entertainment and games in a relaxed atmosphere under the supervision of KGS staff. At lunchtime, meals are provided where all dietary needs are met. KGS's in-house catering team offers students a wide variety of meals, with a four-week menu. The school day ends at 3:50 p.m., but for parents who are unable to pick up their child at this time, there is an option to leave them at school until 6:00 p.m.

Kirkham Grammar School can cater to the diverse interests of each student. Thanks to the excellent local facilities, a large number of activities are offered: functional education, gym classes, badminton, tennis and swimming. The school boasts a wide range of clubs and societies that students are strongly encouraged to join. All of them operate under the auspices of the Voice of the Student School Board, and can be held at any time, at lunchtime during the week or after school. Made up of Army and Air Force sections, the CCF has more than 200 cadets and is a volunteer organization popular with Sixth Form students.

Dramaturgy is taken seriously at KGS both within and outside of the curriculum. It is offered as an academic subject for GCSE and - Level.

In addition to its place in the official curriculum, musical activities are widely encouraged throughout the school, with various school choirs, an orchestra, a concert group and other informal groups.

Many Sixth Form students are involved in community service, working with the disabled and the elderly, for example.

Kirkham Grammar School covers a total area of 30 acres. The school is located halfway between Preston and the seaside town of Blackpool, overlooking the countryside of the Field countryside. Just a five-minute drive from the school, there are excellent road and rail links to the motorway (M55 junction 3). Kirkham & Wesham Railway Station is just a 15-minute walk away, and Manchester Airport can be reached by car or train in about an hour. The school is easily accessible from all areas of Preston, Blackpool, Field and Wyre, with many pupils commuting to and from school on a daily basis by school bus.

The main school buildings date back to 1910, but the school management is actively engaged in improving the infrastructure. Over the past decade, many new facilities have already been built: a science center, a building of twelve interactive classrooms, modern illuminated all-weather sports fields, the Lawrence House Pavilion with a theater studio, a music school and a sports hall, a fitness room, an indoor pool, a Sixth Form Center and an Internet café.

The academic year at Kirkham Grammar School lasts from September to June. The year is divided into 3 trimesters, between which vacations are organized:

Basic enrollment is carried out at the age of 3 years in preschool, from 4 years in preschool class and from 7 years in third grade, children are enrolled in different groups at different times during the school year. After visiting the school, prospective students will be invited to a "Tasting Day" where they will join their peer group and get to know the students and staff. The entrance exam will consist of short tests of reading, spelling, literacy and numeracy: they are designed to assess the potential of each child and take place in a relaxed atmosphere under the supervision of a teacher who will answer any question on the instructions for the tests.

Students at the age of 11 or 16 usually enter high school, although a small number of students enter in the intermediate stages. The offer of a place depends on whether the candidate satisfies the school's entry requirements, which include:

For admission to the Sixth Form, the school report and meeting with the principal are used as the basis for the offer, provided that candidates receive a satisfactory number of GCSE grades. Registered Sixth Form students are required to inform the school of their GCSE results as soon as they are known.

At the moment, about 900 people study at Kirkham Grammar School, the average class size is 15-20 people.

At KGS, we are committed to preparing young men and women for the world of work. The school places a huge emphasis on collaborative learning activities, skill development and confidence, with a series of activities throughout the year, mainly aimed at high school students.

An individual approach and attention is paid to each student in preparation for admission to universities. More than 90% of the school's graduates go on to higher education, including Oxbridge and Russell Group. Academic exam results are above the national average.

Upon admission at the age of 12, 13 or 14, the applicant is evaluated, and school reports are requested. In the event that grades are required for admission, it is possible that the test papers will be sent to the candidate's current school. Parents are asked to provide contact details for a member of staff at their child's school.

International students must have a guardian in the United Kingdom who will act as the child's legal representative and be responsible for them (including during exams), and be responsible for travel arrangements and visas.

Although there are additional English lessons, the curriculum is in English and students need to be fluent in the language in order to absorb it well.

Academic scholarships are offered to candidates for admission to secondary school (at age 11) and for admission to the Sixth Form (at age 16). Scholarships in dramatic arts, music, and sports are also available to students at 11 and 16 years old.

A number of scholarships are awarded to assist those parents who require assistance with tuition fees to reward academic merit. Parents interested in receiving financial aid must provide full information about their joint income and expenses: based on the documents, the school will determine the family's eligibility for financial aid (the information is kept in the strictest confidence). The scholarship will be reviewed annually.
