The educational organization was founded in 1959 in the city of Polessk, Kaliningrad region.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

The educational process is based on the following faculties:

The branch conducts research activities in the following areas:

• Improving the efficiency of the use of the machine and tractor fleet based on taking into account individual reliability indicators;

• Development and implementation of methods for improving and functioning of technological complexes of machines in crop production;
• Development and implementation of methods for balancing long bodies of rotation, based on methods and means of vibration diagnostics;
• The use of biostimulants in the cultivation of crops;
• The use of biological products in vegetable growing in open and closed grounds;
• The use of mixed crops of grain crops with narrow-leaved lupine in the conditions of the Kaliningrad overgrowth;
• Variety testing of millet;
• Improvement of the technology of cultivation of grain crops;
• Study of agrotechnological parameters of growing promising grape varieties using biologically active substances in the conditions of the Kaliningrad region;
• Marketing research in the agro-industrial complex;
• Organizational and economic formation of agricultural enterprises in the conditions of market relations;
• Financial and management accounting in agricultural enterprises;
• Analysis of reproduction and the formation of automated policy;
• Topical issues of accounting, control and taxation.

For nonresident full-time students, the university provides a corridor-type dormitory.

For meals for students and staff, the university has a buffet and a café for a total of 56 seats.

The educational process takes place in two buildings of the university, equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory work. The classrooms are equipped with modern necessary equipment: screens, projectors, electronic boards and laptops.

The university provides students with free access to a scientific and educational library with a reading room for 54 seats.

For sports activities the university has the following facilities:

• Outdoor gymnastic ground, where there is a gymnastic crossbar, gymnastic logs;

• Outdoor playground for playing five-a-side football;

In the branch, the learning process is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each of them, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).
