Japanese agency Last Resort has acquired an English language school in Fiji

Japanese educational tourism agency Last Resort has acquired a controlling stake in Free Bird Institute Limited.

  • The language school Free Bird Institute has been operating successfully in Fiji since 2004, specializing in teaching English to foreigners, and has already graduated more than 35,000 students from 28 countries. The school has two campuses (Nadi and Lautoka), contains 40 classrooms, offering more than 200 accommodation places.
  • Last Resort has been operating in Japan since 1998 and already has more than 40 offices. Its core focus is preparing foreigners for extended study abroad (high school, university), as well as comprehensive "Working Holiday" programs. In 2026, Last Resort was named a finalist for the StudyTravel Star Awards in the ST Star Agency Asia category.

Free Bird Institute will now join the Japanese educational group Nova Holdings: in this way, the Japanese company will expand its educational presence abroad and broaden the range of programs it offers. All Free Bird Institute staff, including management, will retain their positions.
