Children and pregnant girls in Indonesia will begin to receive meals free of charge. Such a social project cost the country $28 billion.
On the one hand, this is a very necessary project: in Indonesia, a quarter of children under five years old face growth problems due to lack of food, the initiative is noble. On the other hand, economic experts believe that the project is an unbearable burden for the budget, this is the reason for the growth of public debt in the future.
In 2025, the authorities plan to feed about 19 million children and pregnant girls, for which they will buy tons of rice, chicken, beef, fish, vegetables, fruits and milk. For cooking, about 5,000 additional kitchens will be built in Indonesia.
