The number of foreigners in Canadian universities has increased over the academic year since 2022/23: colleges have increased by 30%, and universities by 7%. But the number of Canadian students during the same time decreased by 4% and 2%, respectively. Experts say that this dynamic continues to support the upward trend of international students in Canada for a decade.
However, the statistics for the 2023/24 academic season will definitely be more modest, since the government announced its desire to reduce the number of foreign students by 35% at the end of 2025.
