The Malaysian government is actively working to create new opportunities to attract international students. The country intends to become an important center for international education, offering easier admission conditions and improved support for students.
The number of applications from foreign students to local universities has increased by as much as a quarter in recent years! Such positive trends inspired the country's leadership to go further and announce large-scale reforms aimed at further increasing the popularity of its education system:
- In the near future, the procedure for submitting documents will be significantly simplified: future applicants will be able to submit documents online, verification of the authenticity of diplomas and certificates will be accelerated thanks to modern technologies such as blockchain.
- They promise to reduce the processing time for applications - from several months to a couple of weeks.
- Particular attention is paid to creating comfortable living conditions and adaptation: many universities will have specialized departments to support international students to help solve everyday problems and organize leisure activities.
Today, citizens of neighboring Asian countries: China, India and Indonesia are most actively interested in education in Malaysia. The state attracts students with its high-quality higher education, relatively low living and education costs, mild climate and friendliness of the local population. In the next 10 years, Malaysia plans to significantly increase the influx of foreign students, becoming one of the main educational centers in Southeast Asia.
