Description of HEC Montréal École de Gestion

HEC Montréal École de Gestion is an educational institution of the state type, which has been active in scientific and academic activities since the 1907. The university currently has its own small campus in Montreal.

This is a secondary educational institution, where annually about 15,000 people successfully complete the course of study.

Educational process

The curriculum is built on practice-oriented pedagogy with real case studies, simulations, role-playing games, oral presentations, and consulting projects in organizations. Classes are taught by recognized specialists in their fields with extensive professional experience.

Small groups ensure individual student support, and instruction is available in two languages. The school provides international experience opportunities — dual degrees and short-term international courses lasting 2–3 weeks.

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.A.A.) — a three-year program with the option of bilingual instruction and a choice of 15 specializations,
  • Master's degree — 15 specializations in management,

  • EMBA — a joint program of McGill University and HEC Montréal for executives with 10+ years of experience,
  • Doctoral program — a joint program with Concordia, McGill, and the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM), designed for four years, with 12 specializations,

Also available are graduate diplomas (DESS), certificates, microprograms of cycles 1, 2, and 3, as well as continuing education programs.
