Hatherop Castle is a day school  of mixed type for students aged 2 to 13 years, located in the beautiful Cotswold district, about 20 minutes from Cirencester, Northlich, Stow on Wald, Burford and Faringdon. Heathrow International Airport is 1.5 hours away by car.

Hatherop Castle Preparatory School is a family school: special attention is paid here to comfort and well-being, helping parents to find a suitable high school for a student. Many students go to Cheltenham College, Dean Close and Malvern College, Marlborough, Cheltenham Lady, Brighton College, Bradfield and Radley. The school is known for the victories of its students in the championships in robotics. This is a great place to spend your childhood in a homely atmosphere.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The campus is 22 acres of land with well-kept lawns, woodlands and an Italian garden, and the main building is a beautiful Hogwarts-style castle built in 1222. The school has about two hundred people.

The maximum number of students living in a school residence is 35 people. Family traditions are strong here: Nigel Reid, director of the castle preparatory school, lives at school with his wife and two sons who study there. Nigel teaches computer science while his wife helps to coordinate school activities and leads emotional literacy classes.

Activities Hatherop Castle Preparatory Elementary School

The school regularly hosts tours of London’s attractions. The list of extracurricular activities is very long - from yoga, ballet and Scottish dancing to a cooking class, rugby for girls and boys, a choir, an art, reading and chess club, drama and fencing. In the music studio, students learn to play the piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone.

Facilities and equipment at Hatherop Castle Preparatory Elementary School

Classrooms are equipped with all necessary equipment: the school has recreation rooms and entertainment areas, computer rooms, a music and theater studio, and sports halls. Pupils play cricket, rugby, football, hockey and netball. In 2017, a theater building was constructed, accommodating 180 people: the theater is used for meetings and school plays, as well as for social events and quizzes.
