Gresham's School has more than 450 years of educational tradition, modern teaching methods, classical British tutorials. A private school in the UK is considered one of the oldest and most prestigious in Norfolk. Gresham's School, a few miles from Sheringham and the coast of England, is located in one of the most ecologically clean areas of the country. Also, the campus is among the safest in Britain.
At school, much attention is paid not only to academic, but also to physical development of students. Here all conditions for improving sports skills are created. The school has a developed internal infrastructure. In sports halls and in open fields, playgrounds with teenagers, highly qualified coaches work. Students are offered sections of tennis, swimming, squash, shooting, rugby, martial arts, hockey, golf, football, basketball, athletics, cricket. Also in the school conditions are created for yachting, canoeing, horse riding. Creative children are waiting for elective courses and circles of choreographic, dramatic, vocal, musical, artistic directions. Also in the school there are studios of poetry, photographs, discussion, chess, computer clubs.
The program provides for the study of a large number of general subjects in the first year of study. In addition, students are given the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of modern foreign languages: Japanese, Russian, Spanish, German, French. Also, Latin is offered for study.
In the second year of GCSE, students choose 8 to 11 subjects. Mathematics, English, 2-3 sciences and at least 1 foreign language are compulsorily studied. A large number of disciplines are offered: foreign languages (including Latin and Japanese), English literature, religion, graphics, geography, technology and design, art, drama, computer technology, electronics, biology, physics, chemistry, etc.
High school students enrolled in the program choose 4 priority subjects out of 20 possible. Latin, German, French, mathematics, music, higher mathematics, electronics, economics, technology and design, history, geography, graphics, chemistry, information and computer technologies, art, ancient history, drama, biology, religion, Physics, statistics, English and English literature. Particular attention is also paid to developing the skills of writing essays. At the end of the course each student does a job of at least 4000 words.
Students of the program study at least 6 subjects, examinations are made at the end of the course. The following disciplines are offered: languages (English, German, French, Latin, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish), mathematics, history, geography, chemistry, biology, economics, business, electronics, technology and design, philosophy and religion, psychology, computer Technology, theatrical art, sports, physical culture, music. Objects are combined in blocks, from each one you can choose one discipline. Also on the IB program students study CAS (creativity, action, service), the theory of cognition, the technique of writing an extended essay.
There are 7 residences for secondary and high school students. Each of them is decorated in a certain style. In hostels accommodation for 3-4 people in the room is offered. Senior students live in single, less often double rooms. Conveniences are in the rooms. Dormitories also have common living rooms and kitchens. Laundry services are offered free of charge.
All students are accommodated in residences on a full board basis. The food is organized in the dining room of Gresham's School.
The campus of the school includes educational buildings, residences for separate living, a library, a sports complex, several playing fields, playgrounds, a dining room, and recreation areas. The educational buildings are equipped with auditoriums, scientific laboratories, computer and media centers, there are provided cozy lounges for rest at the changes. There are several Wi-Fi points on the school grounds.
