Quick overview: the educational course is suitable for all categories of international students - and those who are just starting to learn English, and experienced students who want to improve and deepen the knowledge and skills already available.

The program of the course provides for several blocks of classes -their harmonious, balanced combination provides an integrated approach and rapid language progress.

Description of Gordonstoun International Summer School

  • Students age: 8-16 years;
  • Duration of the programs: 3-5 weeks;

Aristocratic, prestigious, elite Gordonstoun International Summer School (GISS) was founded in 1934 (summer courses started in 1975). Today, more than 280 students from 40 countries come here annually.

Gordonstone International Summer School is located in the northern part of Scotland, in the small town of Elgin near the North Sea coast. Aberdeen Airport can be reached in 2 hours by transport, and to Iversness Airport in just an hour.

The ratio of students to teaching staff is only 2:1, so each student receives enough attention and concern from the teaching staff.

Prior to enrolling in the language schools in Scotland, all international students undergo general testing, which determines their language level - you can do with any preparation, from the initial and almost zero to fairly advanced. At the end of the course each student receives a corporate certificate indicating all achievements and the acquired level of English.

What accommodations and amenities are provided for the campers?

Campers stay in comfortable dormitory-style accommodations with modern amenities such as bathrooms, common areas, and recreational facilities. Meals are provided, and dietary restrictions are accommodated.

Accommodation, meals, prices

For students prepared cozy rooms in a spacious school: girls under 12 live in large rooms for 5-6 people, the rest of the children occupy rooms for 1-2 students. The meals are organized according to the scheme of the full board, varied and balanced.

Activities Gordonstoun International Summer School

6 days a week, Gordonstoun International Summer School students are provided with a variety of leisure, entertainment, sports and cognitive activities. It can be a walk along the coast, canoeing or sailing, climbing, riding lessons. You can participate in various types of leasure activitiest:

  • Golf;
  • Skating;
  • Quad biking;
  • Shopping;
  • Fishing;
  • Shooting in a dash.

There are numerous creative studios:

Facilities and equipment at Gordonstoun International Summer School

The total area of ​​the campus is 180 acres. It has its own theater and an extensive library, a video and conference room, a dining room and well-equipped classrooms. The sports infrastructure is well developed:

  • An indoor swimming pool with heated water;
  • An athletic track with a length of 400 meters;
  • Squash and tennis courts;
  • Basketball;
  • Volleyball;
  • A football field;
  • A large multi-purpose sports hall.

Admission dates and extra charges

Tuition fee for the course "English as a foreign language" already included:

- we recommend to apply 6-9 months before the start of the course (some camps and schools offer discounts for early booking or for lengthy study programs)
- there are some very popular and high demand children's camps, where the applications need to be submitted 1 year in advance (in particular Switzerland , Great Britain , USA , Canada , Austria)
- we recommend to apply one year before the start of the training program,
- some schools have a specific time frame (September-November - please specify an individual school)
- some schools require tests in several stages (UKISET, internal tests of the school: English, mathematics, logics, subjects, interview, some require a personal visit)
- we recommend to apply one year before the start of the program,
- for Foundation and Pathway programs, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are usually required, respectively

- recommended submission one year before the start of the program,
- the deadline normally closes in January, for TOP HEIs and, as a rule, in March in other universities
- for a bachelor, a Foundation or Pathway preparatory program a completed A-level, IB, High School + IELTS / TOEFL are required
- for Masters you need a graduated higher education, in some cases you need a pre-Masters program
