George School began its history in 1887, when the rich Quaker John M. George makes an impressive contribution to the construction of a boarding school. In 1893, the first 155 pupils arrived at the school, who began to study in three programs - scientific, classical and literary. Today, there are 547 students studying under the Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs. The George School students come from various states of the United States and another 22 countries, 26% of students are foreign students. More than half of the students live on the school campus all the time or leaving for the weekend.

Accommodation, meals, prices

More than half of school students live in boarding schools on a permanent basis or on weekdays. The headquarters of the campus is located in Maine, one of the oldest school buildings. Sights campus - clock and Red Square. Each residence has its own personality: for girls, there is Westwood with a beautiful wooden porch and rocking chairs, for boys - Campbell, the farthest from the center of the campus, Orton, extended and updated several times, Drayton of the century, located on campus. An interesting accommodation format is Brown House, where eight students, sometimes boys, and sometimes girls, learn to live independently (almost) from each other.

Equestrian program George School throughout the year provides classes for both students and school guests. Qualified instructors teach riding skills and jumping, make preparations for competitions.

George School Aquatics - swimming club for students from 6 to 18 years old, based on the territory of the Center for Fitness and Athletics, holds competitions and exercises in swimming.


  1. George School is one of the few boarding schools in the United States that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) degree program. The international Baccalaureate diploma rate for George graduates is 95%. An unusual, complex two-year curriculum for junior, senior classes structures rigorous academic work, balancing it with tasks outside the classroom — social work, creativity, and physical activity. International Baccalaureate becomes an excellent preparation for entering colleges, universities of the USA and the world.
  2. The campus occupies 240 acres of lawns and wooded slopes, providing students with a year-round view of the magnificent landscape. New and old campus buildings offer students all the comforts and spaces for study, leisure, and sports. The school is located not far from Newtown, a historic site recently named one of the best small cities in America. There are shops, cinemas, parks, close to natural areas, the city of New Hope, Pennsylvania, Princeton, New Jersey.
  3. George School offers the services of a Students's School Center - a community of students, teachers and parents involved in creating a safe and open environment in which students are taught using positive leadership techniques. Teaching students how to solve problems, to resolve conflicts contributes to social, emotional development, self-regulation, is an important factor for future school success. The center focuses on students from six weeks to five years of age; they are held from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm five days a week.
  4. The George day camp (GSDC) was opened in 1977 for boys and girls from 4 to 14 years old. Camp guests participate in a wide range of activities: from swimming to equestrian sports, archery to art.
