George School began its history in 1887, when the rich Quaker John M. George makes an impressive contribution to the construction of a boarding school. In 1893, the first 155 pupils arrived at the school, who began to study in three programs - scientific, classical and literary. Today, there are 547 students studying under the Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs. The George School students come from various states of the United States and another 22 countries, 26% of students are foreign students. More than half of the students live on the school campus all the time or leaving for the weekend.

More than half of school students live in boarding schools on a permanent basis or on weekdays. The headquarters of the campus is located in Maine, one of the oldest school buildings.
