Potsdam University of Applied Sciences is a public educational institution founded in 1991. In the very first year of its existence, during the spring semester, the university moved to the former Institute of Pedagogical Education in the city center, where it is still located.
In 2003, the institution switched to the Bologna system of education, received the right to assign bachelor's and master's degrees.
Students are actively involved in the life of the city. So, in 2014, students of the specialties “Social Work” and “Parenting and Education of Children” took part in the development of a program to strengthen the status of the family. Students of architectural, restoration and design majors participate in the restoration of the old foundation and the construction of modern buildings within the city.
