Chalmers University of Technology works closely with the On-Campus Student Housing Development Foundation. Founded by the Municipality of Gothenburg and the Chalmers Student Union, the foundation owns and manages approximately 2,200 student housing units on campuses Lindholmen, Johanneberg, Landala, Guldhedenae.

For over 200 years, Chalmersska huset has represented a family atmosphere and personalized housing, a platform for the business community with extensive business opportunities. Today Chalmers' student house is used as a place for meetings, conferences, master classes, seminars, lunches.

Chalmers University operates on campuses in Johanneberg, Lindholmen and the Onsala Space Observatory.

  • Johanneberg is an urban campus in close contact with the city center and the Johanneberg Science Park in the south, initiating collaboration with the business community in the areas of public works, energy and materials. Of the 10,500 Chalmers students in 2019, about 8,500 were housed on the Johanneberg campus. This is the largest Chalmers campus, connected by footpaths, green spaces, small roads.
  • The Lindholmen campus is in an attractive location right next to the water, the entrance to Gothenburg harbor. Travel options to the Lindholmen campus from the city center are steadily evolving, with an ElectriCity electric bus line being built between the Lindholmen campus and the Johanneberg campus.
  • The Onsalam Space Observatory is Sweden's national center for radio astronomy. The center provides scientists with equipment to study the Earth and the Universe. FIera radio telescopes operate in Onsala, 45 km south of Gothenburg, and are involved in several international projects.
  • Chalmers University of Technology has several libraries: the Main Library, the Library for Architecture and Civil Engineering, and the Mathematics Library on the Johanneberg campuses and the Chalmers Larandetorg in Kuggen on the Lindholmen campus. Chalmers Libraries are public and opened to all.
