The International GCSE is a high school diploma for children aged 14 and over who aspire to study abroad at world-renowned universities. GCSE is an abbreviation for General Certificate of Secondary Education, which stands for Sekundarschule (progymnasium) in Switzerland. The GCSE is a two-year programme starting in Year 10. The curriculum standard includes coursework, English Language (EAL), Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science with a recommendation of a humanities class (art, music, and theater).
Switzerland's Pre-University Preparation System (PUS) connects the GCSE international secondary school curriculum with a diploma system linked to the British Competency Framework. Upon successful completion of the educational program, students receive two certificates of secondary education - from SIMI Switzerland and SIMI Great Britain, recognized by the world community and quoted in other countries similar to European countries.
