Standard German Course

The standard German language program is suitable for absolutely all students with any background knowledge: from A1 to C2. The curriculum includes from one to 48 weeks of class attendance, each week includes 20 lessons in groups of up to 12 students, the class lasts for 45 minutes.

During the course, students will learn the basics of the German language: speaking, reading, writing, listening, as well as enrich their vocabulary in order to maintain everyday topics.

Intensive German Course

  • The duration of the training is from one to 48 weeks.

The Intensive German Language Program is ideal for students who want to enrol in German-speaking institutions or improve their current level in a short time. The course curriculum is:

  • 25 lessons every week of 45 minutes each,
  • Training from Monday to Friday, from 9:430 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or from 1:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The main difference from the standard course is that students will learn the basics of linguistics, with a focus on speaking and communication. Classes are held in groups of 7-12 people, allowing students to receive one-on-one support from a teacher and practice language skills with classmates.

Combined German Course

The combined course allows students to attend a standard program, combining group lessons with individual lessons with a teacher. The curriculum includes 20 standard lessons, 5-10 one-on-one lessons with the teacher.

In the standard program, the student will study the basics: writing, reading, speaking and listening, and at personal meetings with the teacher, they will work out speaking skills, analyze topics that are difficult for him, and master what he needs for further academic and personal development.

Mini-Group German Course, Small Group German Course

The curriculum of the program, presented in mini-groups of up to 6 people, is usually available from October to June (dates may vary). It consists of 20 weekly lessons of 45 minutes each, in which students will analyze interesting and necessary topics. The main advantage of this program is a flexible curriculum that allows you to deviate from standardized areas of study towards topics that are really interesting to students. At the same time, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills will be practiced in each lesson.

The history of the university began in 1984. Since then, BWS Germanlingua has gone through many changes and today strives to comply with modern approaches, teaching methods and effective foreign language acquisition by foreign students. Thousands of students from all over the world come to one of the three study areas to improve their existing knowledge or start learning German from scratch – the school's courses are designed for all levels of education.

Thanks to the empathetic and qualified teaching staff, the friendly and multinational atmosphere, modern approaches to teaching, the technological effectiveness of the campuses, BWS Germanlingua has earned international recognition among similar institutions. The basis of the courses is regular practice, which allows you to develop spoken and written speech, quick expression of thoughts, and talk about everyday topics with native speakers. The education follows a clear curriculum that focuses on learning the rules of grammar, sentence construction, and vocabulary replenishment. Educational process

Students attend classes on the chosen course, to which they can add additional lessons in pronunciation in German, preparation for university admission or exams, and learning the business language. Additional meetings with teachers can be arranged both individually and in small groups.

BWS Germanlingua allows pupils to immerse themselves in the study of German culture by offering accommodation for students from the age of 16. Regardless of which campus a student chooses, there are two accommodation options available to him: living in apartments at the school or in the houses of host families. Local families accept students who are under 18 years old, provide a comfortable life, care and gentle control. Residential buildings at BWS are available to all adult students.

Living conditions in host families:

  • The number of family members varies from one to, on average, five+ pets can live in the house,
  • Single and double rooms for students of the school with private beds, work area, wardrobes for storage,
  • Shared access to other areas of the house: bathroom, kitchen, living room,
  • Meal options to choose from: breakfasts only or half board.

Students from 18 years old are accommodated in shared apartments, studios, apartments. Accommodation options at the school:

  • Shared apartment (for students from 20 years old) with single and double rooms, shared bathrooms, kitchens and laundry facilities,
  • Studio apartment with its own kitchen, bathroom for one student. It is possible to live in it together, but in this case, an additional payment will be required for the second person,
  • Apartments are available upon request and are not always available.

When accommodated in school accommodation, students are responsible for their own meals, using shared or private kitchens, which are equipped with all the necessary appliances; They can use the cafeteria and dining room on campus, restaurants and cafes outside the study area.

Extracurricular activities at BWS Germanlingua include additional German lessons, numerous excursions to attractions, cultural and entertainment venues. Collective events are regularly held on campuses that help students of different nationalities find a common language and interests: from movie nights and a literature club to large-scale performances by music and dance groups.

Depending on which of the campuses the student is located on, they will be able to visit the attractions, historical and cultural sites closest to them on school trips or on their own. Those students who live with host families have the opportunity to explore the surroundings together with people who provide a warm welcome in an unfamiliar country.

BWS Germanlingua has three campuses in three cities in Germany: Cologne, Munich, Berlin.

Excursions most often show the most striking sights of Munich: from the city center, located three minutes from the school campus, to numerous churches and cathedrals, park areas.
  • Berlin is not only the capital of the country, but also the lively cultural center of Germany. The international atmosphere of the city is often compared to New York and London, as in Berlin you can find everything: scientific and cultural places, attractions, entertainment, countless shops and restaurants, a calm atmosphere along with active leisure. In recent years, several thousand people from all over the world have come to live and work here: politicians, artists, businessmen, film directors, writers.
  • Cologne is the oldest of Germany's major cities, located in the west. Its well-deserved fame was created thanks to its long history, cultural and architectural heritage. One of the main historical iconic places is the Gothic-style Cologne Cathedral: it organizes various events every year, which are attended by millions of spectators from all over the world.

All campuses offer state-of-the-art facilities for academic and extracurricular facilities. Classrooms equipped with the latest technology perfectly support the learning process, and projectors, tablets and personal computers in each classroom expand the possibilities of teaching lessons in an interactive, diverse way. All books and teaching materials are provided – students receive books, notebooks and stationery, however, dictionaries can only be obtained for a period of time in the library. There are computers with free internet access throughout the school, and school Wi-Fi is available on site.

Courses vary in terms of start dates and duration , depending on the student's existing knowledge. BWS Germanlingua is open throughout the year, with the exception of national holidays and holidays: New Year, May, autumn. Students rest on weekends – on Saturdays and Sundays.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

The criteria for admission to language courses will require personal documents from foreign applicants: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit. Underage students also need a guardian who has German citizenship. Each of the courses will require you to pass an entrance exam, which determines the existing level of linguistics.
