Adventures in English (9-16 years old)

Adventures in English program offers 20 hours of English per week, focuses on learning outdoors, stimulates students' curiosity, interest in the environment. The special feature of the program is an additional tour on Tuesdays or Tuesday evenings, which allows you to better learn about Clermont.

Course Objectives:

  • Improving perception skills (reading and listening), productive skills in using English
  • Extension of knowledge, vocabulary
  • Deepening the grammar concepts of the English language
  • Understanding of the context
  • Improving student pronunciation.

The lessons are based on the Content and Language Integrated Learning program, which allows students to improve English by studying ecology, space, science and technology. Classes allow students to spend a lot of time outdoors, improve their English skills with the help of tasks for survival, orientation, games (treasure hunt). The program is aimed at motivating students to use English in game situations, to overcome the language barrier, to increase confidence and communication skills.

Bedes Summer School celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2017. Since 1992, she has been providing unusual linguistic, social, and cultural experiences to her students.

Bedes Claremont Summer School educates more than 1800 students from 6 to 20 years old from 50 different countries, offers a wide selection of academic and summer programs with placement in beautiful boarding schools and universities in southeastern England in July and August.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Bedes Clermont Summer School offers accommodation for boys and girls in two separate boarding houses, most of the bedrooms are designed for two to four students. Both residences are located a short drive from the campus, the rooms accommodate students of the same age and from different countries. This opens up opportunities to speak English, improve speaking skills, and build new friendships. The residences have common rooms for students, a dining room. Each hostel has a teacher responsible for the comfort and well-being of students, other teachers live in a separate building, they are available around the clock for students if necessary.

The menu of Bede's Clermont Summer School is a mixture of typical English and international cuisine: there are always two options for hot dishes, a salad bar, a vegetarian menu, dishes for students with food intolerances or religious restrictions. The opportunity to taste typical English dishes and cuisines of other countries is also part of cultural education. During the excursions, students are offered a packed lunch / dinner (sandwich, roll or roll with cheese, ham, chicken salad, tuna and sweetcorn, an appetizer, for example, a cereal bar, fruit and drink).
