Algonquin College Ottawa Canada - College of Applied Arts and Technology - was founded in 1967 and is named after the indigenous people who lived in the area. Algonquin was formed by the merger of the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology, established in 1957, and the Professional Center of Ontario, founded in 1965.
