Westminster School, along with Herow, Winchester, Rugby, Eaton, offers classical educational programs within the framework of the British system. One of the oldest schools in the UK, founded by the Benedictines in 1179, accepts boys and girls from different countries. Representatives of more than 30 nationalities receive secondary education in Westminster School.

Prestigious educational institution has 2 departments. Junior school (7-12) is available for British boys (as well as there are some private schools in England for girls). Foreign students are accepted from 13 years old (girls - from 16). To enter an educational program of high school in England, the applicant must have a high level of English proficiency. This is the main requirement of the school. 

13-year-old applicants enter the school according to results of entrance examinations in history, geography, Latin, natural sciences, French, English, mathematics, Holy Scripture. In 16 years old 4 profile subjects are handed over (chosen for studying at A-level in the UK). Admission is impossible without prior registration. To enter the school at the age of 13 years old, it is recommended to register for 2 years in advance, in 16 - for 1 year.

Westminster School provides support to all students and pays special attention to pupils with personal needs, whether hidden health conditions or medical disorders, learning difficulties (dyslexia, dyspraxia), or the need for assistance with time management and organizational skills. Specialized educators arrange individual meetings after classes, accompany students during lessons, and adapt the curriculum to their abilities.

In the academic structure of Westminster School, two educational divisions are highlighted:

• Primary School: 7–10 years old — grades 3–6,
• Middle School: 11–15 years old — grades 7–11,
• High School: 16–18 years old — grades 12–13.

In autumn 2026, the school opens enrollment in the preschool division, where children aged 4 to 7 will study.

The school's housing stock is represented by 11 residences. 6 of them are provided for foreign students. Students of 13 - 15 years old live 2-3 people in a 1 room. Senior students are offered single occupancy. Facilities, lounges, kitchens, laundries are in general access.

The school provides board meals (4-time, with a snack). Dishes are served in the former dining room of Westminster Abbey (College Hall) or Grant's dining room.

Each of the 11 boarding houses is a separate community with distinctive features: a color, a flag, and a name. The residents are united into Houses that compete against each other throughout the year in various extracurricular areas, earning points to learn teamwork, demonstrate leadership qualities, and win the main award of the year.

The extracurricular development program offers students a wide range of opportunities, through which they can try new activities and achieve excellent results in their existing hobbies. Extracurricular activities are divided into specializations:

• Arts: photography, work with various materials, painting, design,
• Music: solo and ensemble performance, playing musical instruments, participation in ensembles and orchestras,
• Drama: acting and public speaking, dance, directing, stage lighting and audio technologies,
• Sports: individual and team sports, including basketball, climbing, fencing, rowing, football, and others,
• Societies: debates, Model UN, the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Each of the areas involves participation in both in-school and external events: concerts, competitions, exhibitions, academic seminars, and charity events.

Throughout the year, around 60 expeditions are organized across various academic fields: linguists visit France, Spain, Germany, Russia, and Cuba; art historians travel to Florence and Venice; skiers take to the slopes of the French Alps, Jasper, and Vermont; geographers explore the natural wonders of Morocco, China, and Jordan. In addition to major trips, students can look forward to excursions to landmarks in London and other cities in England, visits to entertainment centers, and nature hikes.

The admission process depends on the age group, but the general steps are:

• Online registration of the application, submission of required documents,
• Payment of registration fees,
• Completion of age-appropriate interviews and entrance examinations,
• Receiving results and an enrollment invitation.

If the school receives more than 500 applications for one class, the admissions committee forms a waiting list.

In 2025, 68 primary school graduates demonstrated exceptional results in their final exams and went on to attend Eton College, St Paul’s School, City of London School, The Perse School, or continued their education at Westminster School.

According to recent statistics, senior students achieve academic results that allow at least half of them to enroll at the University of Oxford or University of Cambridge. Graduates frequently choose Harvard University, Princeton University, University College London (UCL), University of Edinburgh, University of Bristol.

Foreign applicants are admitted to Westminster School at age 16. To apply, the following must be provided:

• Personal documents of the child, guardian/parent: international passport, medical insurance, visa or residence permit,
• Academic transcripts from the previous place of study,
• Results of a test confirming the level of English language proficiency: UKiset or equivalent. The level must be sufficient for the student to keep up with the academically rigorous, intensive curriculum.

Admission is based on the results of an interview and entrance tests.

Westminster School annually awards dozens of academic and music scholarships for outstanding achievements:

• King’s Scholars — 12 prestigious scholarships: eight are awarded to students entering at age 13 and above, and six more are assigned to Year 12 applicants,
• Eight music scholarships — each covering up to 10% of the annual tuition fee, awarded on the basis of outstanding talent in playing two musical instruments.

Westminster operates a system of means-tested scholarships that allow students to receive a discount on tuition fees or a completely free education if the student performed particularly well in the entrance examinations but their family is in a difficult financial situation.
