The Wasatch Academy is the only private school in its class in Utah. It was founded by Minister Duncan McMillan in 1875, getting its name from the nearby Mount Wasatch Mountains. From them the motto of the school, which the students adhere to this day, also went: Let it endure like the Wasatch Mountains, call it Wasatch Academy ("Let the school tolerate everything like Mount Wasatch and called Wasatch Academy).

School is quite prestigious and popular even among foreign students due to its effective educational programs, high educational level, individual approach and professionalism of teachers.
