The Universidad de Piura (UDEP)is a private university with about 10,700 students, more than 7,000 of whom are future bachelors. Education takes place on the basis of several specialized schools-faculties:

The university's policy strives for more accurate, "close" training of its pupils, so there are a large number of employees in the pedagogical staff of the university. More than 250 teachers have doctoral degrees.

Activities University of Piura

The city of Piura is famous for its colonial architecture, large squares, many parks, markets, tourist attractions. Near the city there are sandy beaches, where students can surf, swim, gather for a joint holiday.

The university has a wide range of student clubs and organizations. Group, individual trainings are held at the sports facilities of the university, competitions in team sports are held at the stadiums. Chess tournaments, intellectual games, gatherings of scientific, volunteer, religious communities are organized in the classrooms.

Facilities and equipment at University of Piura

UDEP has two campuses. The main campus is located in Pioura, the second was recently built in the Miraflores district of Lima.

  1. The campus in Piurov covers an area of 130 hectares. The territory of the former desert is planted with trees, among which live various species of animals: deer, squirrels, foxes, peacocks, many species of birds.
  2. UDEP in Lima is located on the Pacific coast. The headquarters in Monterrico is mainly engaged in the training of masters.

The institution has a great respect for Christianity, so each campus is equipped with spaces for prayers, sacraments, initiations.

Educational buildings are prepared for productive study:

  • Classrooms are equipped with projectors, interactive whiteboards

The academic year consists of two semesters:

Intermediate examinations are held in the first week of May and the last week of September.

Most courses are taught in Spanish. Classes are calculated in credits: 20 credits of the university are equal to 15 credits in European institutions. During the semester, a student can take from 12 to 18 credits for study. Grading scheme: from 0 to 20 points.

Admission of applicants takes place on the basis of passed entrance exams, academic performance at previous levels of education. Most often, no more than three applicants apply for one place.

For admission to UDEP, applicants must provide:

  • Diploma of the previous level of education, official transcripts
  • The minimum aggregate GPA for future bachelors is 2.5
