Strait of Bass

Davis Strait

The strait between Greenland and Baffin Land owes its name to a British navigator who crossed the strait in the 1580s exploring these territories. It connects the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, or to be more precise, the Baffin Sea with the Labrador Sea.

Located between Madagascar and Africa. It also bears the title of the longest strait on Earth. Arab merchants always preferred to use it: according to legends, Vasco da Gama and Marco Polo sailed through it.
Drake Passage

The strait between South America and the South Shetland Islands. In the north, it flows along the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, and in the south along the islands belonging to Antarctica. Thanks to the strait, the Pacific and Atlantic oceans are connected. It is considered the most dangerous strait for sailors - storms and winds often rage in it, leading to the list of ships, and the height of waves in the Drake Passage can reach 20 meters.
