Description of Texas State University (TXST)

Texas State University (abbreviated TXST) is the highest public educational institution of America, whose history dates back as far back as 1899. They claim that they are the most beautiful university in Texas and the most welcoming community, too.

The university from year to year adds to the list of TOP-240 best American universities.

 

Educational process

Research opportunities are available to undergraduate students in all fields. Master's and doctoral students conduct research and creative projects under the guidance of faculty mentors, while doctoral students work closely with internationally recognized experts.

Honors College students of all majors study in small interdisciplinary seminar-style classes. Instruction at the School of Music is built on intensive training and student-faculty interaction. The School of Theatre and Dance combines intensive training, collaborative work, and participation in real productions.

The University Writing Center helps students, faculty, and staff work on texts in any discipline and genre at every stage of preparation. Consultations are conducted by faculty and students.

Texas State University's housing stock includes residence halls for freshmen and apartments for upperclassmen. Single, double, and triple rooms, suites, and apartments are available.

Shared, semi-private, suite-style, in-room, and private bathrooms are provided. Bobcat Village Apartments offers single and double rooms with private bathrooms, San Jacinto Hall offers single rooms with suite-style bathrooms, and Blanco Hall offers double and triple rooms with in-room bathrooms.

There is no student housing at the Round Rock campus or the ALERRT center.

The School of Music endowment exceeds $2 million, with the majority designated for music scholarships. The school awards an average of 90 new and continuing scholarships annually, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 per year, and provides assistantship positions to at least 30 qualified master's and doctoral students. Scholarship recommendations take into account audition results, performance achievements, musical preparation, grade point average, and the potential to successfully complete the program. Music scholarships are renewed annually provided that requirements are met and a renewal application is submitted in the spring semester.
