Texas A&M University Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC or A&M-CC) is a public research university affiliated with Texas A&M University.

The history of the educational institution began in 1947, when the private University of Corpus Christi was opened. Several decades later, having experienced financial difficulties and damage from one of the strongest hurricanes in history, in 1989 TAMU-CC became one of the institutions under the leadership of Texas A&M University. Today, the university boasts many distinctive features and advantages, including well-deserved high marks from international and national organizations, a large number of foreigners in the student community, and an extensive range of higher education programs in sought-after specializations.

About 10,000 students study here every year. • The Hart Research Institute is implementing an oyster conservation program as an important ecological and economic resource. The sharp reduction in oyster reef habitats in the Gulf of Mexico indicates a loss of valuable benefits such as hurricane protection, deterioration of natural water filtration, and reduced fish habitat,
• The Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) community garden, where students and parents help care for, grow, and harvest vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs year-round,
• The main university dining hall Islander Dining Hall is certified by the Surfrider Foundation as «Ocean Friendly» — this means that it offers environmentally friendly meals without polystyrene foam, uses reusable tableware, does not use plastic bags, and adheres to proper recycling practices. By meeting these and other environmental requirements, the university has significantly reduced its carbon footprint.

TAMU-CC first—year students are accommodated in the Miramar Residence, while the rest of the students are housed in the Momentum Village residential complex.

The residential buildings have rooms of various sizes and comfort.:

The TAMU-CC studying area covers 400 acres, covering the entire area of Ward Island and slightly beyond. The American university operates a test site for unmanned aircraft systems, two scientific institutes and more than 40 research centers.

The studying takes place in lecture halls and specialized laboratories, and students can use the large library with its reading and computer rooms, project work classes, and many other facilities for self-study of disciplines. Extracurricular activities are implemented in specialized creative studios, computer engineering, social sciences, performance halls, rehearsal rooms, and outdoor venues. There are bookstores and grocery stores on campus, as well as a computer rental and assistance department.

Despite its location on the island, the university has easy access to the rest of the region — students can use public transport, which regularly departs from stops located next to academic buildings.

The academic calendar of TAMU-CC consists of two semesters:
