Shrewsbury High School is a small educational institution that focuses on teaching girls from 4 to 18 years old.

With more than 140 years of history, Shrewsbury High School does not stop improving to offer the best conditions for the comprehensive development of the younger generation. The institution is part of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) educational group, along with 23 schools and two academies for girls. Every year, high school girls achieve excellent results in final exams, continue their studies at leading universities around the world. This is facilitated by the orientation of the school on a special enrichment program, according to which mental well-being, personal development, creative abilities, and physical condition are developed and maintained. By developing important skills - leadership, the ability to work in a team and independently, critical thinking - students become competitive applicants, and then skillful specialists in various fields of activity.

Every student at Shrewsbury High School is in an atmosphere of support and sensitive care from day one. Teachers monitor the academic progress of students, providing them with additional classes in subjects, organizing an extracurricular development plan to maintain their strengths and talents. Employees of the department consider the goals of each girl individually, directing her to external events to gain additional knowledge: for example, a Job Fair is held every two years, a Biomedical Conference, and annual meetings with experts in various fields, leading entrepreneurs, and university representatives.

Shrewsbury High School teaches programs at all stages of school education:

Primary school students are not given homework, middle school students are not given only mathematics, but high school students devote about five hours a week to self-study.

Lunch is an important part of the school day. The cafeteria's varied menu offers a selection of hot dishes, freshly made sandwiches, pasta, soups, fruits and desserts. School lunches are compulsory until the end of Year 11, and students are not allowed to bring packed lunches from home.

During the week, the pupils participate in a wide range of events, thematic clubs, and social activities. Shrewsbury High School offers about 35 areas of extracurricular development: from dance, LAMDA and football to an eco-club, rock band, handicraft and creative classes. Divided into four Houses—Apollo, Jupiter, Mercury, and Neptune—female students compete for awards in athletic events, creative exhibitions, assistance to staff on campus, and academic excellence. The Houses system helps girls develop leadership and team skills, learn healthy competition, and earn individual and collective awards.

Each year, a variety of trips are planned for students of all grades in the region, country and abroad. For example, during the trips that recently took place in Iceland, Madrid, New York and Berlin, the students participated in the Women Mean Business conference, attended master classes of outstanding specialists in various fields, and saw the sights. For the youngest pupils, English seminars are regularly organized at the Globe Theater, scientific conferences at the Royal Institution and much more.

Career support for high school girls allows them to undergo internships in such well-known companies as Airbus, BMW, Mott Macdonald Bentley and the Dyson Institute of Technology, and study specialized subjects at leading universities in the country and the world. So, in previous years, Sixth Form students took preparatory courses in Bristol, Cardiff, Cambridge, Sheffield, Nottingham and other universities.

The academic year lasts from early September to mid-July, consisting of three semesters:

• Summer: April-July.

The school is open on weekdays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, offering early and post-class care services. Pupils rest on weekends, on international and national holidays, during seasonal vacations.

According to annual statistics, students successfully complete GCSE, A-Level:

Shrewsbury High School offers scholarships to students in grades 7-12, stimulating success in studies, sports, music and other forms of art. They usually amount to about 10% of the annual tuition fee.

There is also a system of discounts for sisters of already enrolled students: the fee is reduced by 20% for the 3rd child and all subsequent children studying full-time.
