RSUTIS is the leading Russian university in the field of tourism, graduates are considered highly qualified specialists in the hotel industry. The educational process in RGUTIS is built taking into account the peculiarities of the harmonious development of students. The organization of the educational process of the university is regulated by the working curriculum, the annual calendar schedule of the educational process and the schedule of classes.

On the basis of RGUTIS there are 5 higher schools:

• business, management and law;
• service;
• tourism and hospitality;
• design;
• international cooperation.

On the basis of the university, fundamental and applied scientific research is conducted annually, which is implemented in the joint scientific, educational, creative and social activities of the teaching staff, researchers and students.

Every year, students of the university participate in professional competitions with their own developed projects in the field of tourism and hotel business.

On campus there are 4 dormitories for nonresident and foreign students. Each building has 97-234 living rooms. The dormitory is provided to nonresident students on a first-come, first-served basis.

The cost of living for 1st year students is 3000 rubles per month.

Students settling in the hostel are advised to take with them: bed linen, personal hygiene products, dishes (for the first time) and warm clothes.

For students, there are canteens on campus where students can have a snack between or after classes.

Additionally across the street from the campus there is a shop, a pharmacy, a hairdresser and several small cafes where students can spend time after classes.

Student life in RGUTIS is filled with interesting events. Every year, the university administration organizes creative concerts and celebrations for students (Halloween, March 8, February 23 and others).

For example, in 2022, the Department of Youth and Social Policy organized a trip for STUDENTS of RGUTIS in the Republic of Dagestan.

Educational buildings and other buildings of RGUTIS are located on the picturesque territory of the Pushkin City District.

The territory of the university with an area of 22 hectares is protected.

On the territory of the student city there are: 11 educational buildings, 4 dormitories, sports grounds and halls, a park, a medical center, canteens, an open stage, a center for culture and leisure.

In addition to the park area, where students can walk and admire the act objects, the campus is separated from residential buildings by the Klyazma River, on the bank of which the chapel named after Prince Alexander Nevsky is located.

University students can brighten up their leisure by visiting the museum space of RGUTIS.

In RGUTIS, the educational process takes place within the framework of the semester system. One academic year is divided into 2 semesters, each of which lasts 4-5 months. At the end of the semester, a session is held.

When entering the RSUTIS, the student needs to think over the amount for personal expenses. Additional costs will relate to food, purchases of clothing and personal hygiene products.

Provided that the student will rent an apartment, then to the additional costs it is necessary to add transport, monthly rent, food. On average, the student's additional expenses per month will be about $ 200-$ 300.

Documents for undergraduate programs at the university are accepted until July 24. Documents required when submitting the application:

• application for admission in the prescribed form;
• consent to the processing of personal data;
• identity document (passport copy: first page and registration page);
• documents on education (a copy of the certificate of secondary general education or diploma of vocational education, HPE);
• SNILS (copy);
• 2-4 photos in size 3×4 (if you pass internal entrance exams and at enrollment).

The university provides three ways to submit documents: to the admission committee located on the territory of the university, by mail or by e-mail.

Enrollment lists begin to be published on the official website of RGUTIS from July 27.

About a thousand students study at RGUTIS every year. In total, 1080 places are allocated for full-time form, of which 136 places are budgetary.

The most popular destinations are "Tourism" (150 places, of which 23 are budget) and "Hotel business" (270 places, of which 47 are budget).

On the basis of RGUTIS there is a Recruitment Agency, whose task is to assist graduates in successful employment after graduation.

Students of RGUTIS undergo practical education in large companies and state bodies. Successful completion of the internship by a student is the key to quick employment.

Graduates of RSUTIS become employees of such large companies as: Space Travel, Marriott Grand Hotel, INTOURIST, Scientific and Production Corporation REKOD, Monarch Center. Often graduates of the university become employees of such organizations as the Federal Agency for Tourism, the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia, the Association of Tour Operators, etc.

The administration of the RSUTIS annually conducts excursions and webinars for future students of the university as part of the admission campaign: they can get acquainted with the life of the university, find out what requirements must be met when submitting documents.

Basic requirements for applicants:

• Completed secondary general (11 grades), secondary vocational or higher education;
• Successful completion of entrance tests and testing;
• High results of the Unified State Exam.

In addition, the administration of the university awards points for sports achievements, high results in school Olympiads and the presence of a scientific portfolio.

Minimum passing scores in RGUTIS:

• Russian language – 40 points;
• Mathematics – 39 points;
• Social Studies – 45 points;
• History – 35 points;
• Physics – 39 points;
• Literature – 40 points.

In the direction of study "Design", applicants will need to pass an additional professional test. The minimum passing score for this test is 40 points.

RGUTIS provides financial incentives for students. The state academic scholarship is awarded depending on academic success. The basis for the assessment of academic performance is the results of the intermediate certification in accordance with the calendar educational schedule from the first day of the month following the month of its completion, at least twice a year.

Requirements for students receiving a scholarship: 

• the absence of a "satisfactory" rating as a result of the interim appraisal;
• absence of academic debt.

The average amount of the accrued scholarship is 2130 rubles, the maximum amount is 2732 rubles per month.
