The school was founded in 1827 as the Royal Merchant Marine School: children who parents died at sea studied here and still have strong ties with the founding company and the Royal Navy. Originally, the school was located in London, but in 1921 it moved to Berkshire to its present location, in 1960 changed its name to Bearwood College, and later became Reddam House School Berkshire. Joint training was introduced in 1995. In 2014, the institution was bought by Graham Crawford, a famous educator, entrepreneur and innovator in the educational sphere, plus since September 2007 an international training center has been working on the basis of the school, helping foreign students.

  • GCSE: 91% of students received points from C and above, taking 5 and more subjects
  • A-level: the average final score of the graduates is 347.

90% of yesterday's schoolchildren enter the selected universities immediately after receiving the certificate: the most popular areas are arts, drama and theater, the armed forces and the merchant fleet. Until now, the college is under royal patronage: this gives an opportunity to study deeply and thoroughly the history of the British navy.

Reddam House School Berkshire is a part of the Association of School-Boarding Schools (BSA) and the Society of Directors and Directs of Independent Schools (SHMIS): the constant exchange of experience and knowledge with qualified colleagues helps to keep up with the times and offer students the most effective programs and comfortable conditions. According to a recent check by an independent organization ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate, conducted regularly for all UK boarding schools) the following assessments were made:

  • "Good": academic successes of children, the organization of extracurricular education, the level of education and boarding, working with parents, the quality of school management, the quality and organization of the curriculum, the quality of teaching
  • "Excellent": quality of childcare
  • "Great": the level of child upbringing and development, learning conditions, childcare and safety.

Thought out training programs for students with mild forms of dyslexia, there are supportive English courses for foreign students, very strong training in foreign languages (French, Spanish) at GCSE and A-level levels. Information and communication technologies (ICT) are taught both as a separate subject and as part of other research areas: schoolchildren can bring their laptops or use one of 40 school computers connected to the Internet.

Officially, the school belongs to the Anglican church, but here they are happy to see representatives of all faiths and religions, of any nationality, gender and color.

All students wear uniform uniforms (it is weakened for high school students at A-level - they adopt a universal business style). You can use your own bikes or cars. In general, the discipline is strict, but without excesses and drill: students can receive oral warnings, stay away from recreational activities and remain after the lessons. The only thing to which the school is irreconcilable is hazing, rudeness and humiliation in relation to other schoolchildren, the use of alcohol, cigarettes or drugs: these violations are punishable by an exception with immediate notification to parents.
