St. Georges College Argentina was founded more than 100 years ago (approximately in 1898) by the Rev. J. T. Stevenson: this Anglican priest arrived in Argentina as chaplain of the Church of All Saints (Quilmes). The educational institution was created to study the sons of British nationals working and staying on the territory of Argentina.
Initially, only 6 people were enrolled here, but the school quickly grew stronger and expanded, and today there are places for a boarding house for 350 people. In the 1960s, the department of daytime education was opened, and since the 1970s, girls have started to be accepted and adopted the principle of mixed education. For many years the national composition of the students has gradually changed: today most of the students are Argentines or foreign pupils, and few of them have British roots, as it was at first.
