Durham School Private School is one of the 4 oldest British schools: in 2014, it turned 600! Today, girls and boys from 3 to 18 years from all over the world, who are representatives of various countries and nationalities study here.
The institution is located in the north of England in the city of Durham: it is known as the capital of the homonymous county, is a rich historical city - especially fans appreciate the ancient architecture. From the Leeds International Airport, the campus is only 1.5 hours away by car, and even less takes time to the airports of Newcastle and Durham (the school organizes a convenient transfer).
The distinctive feature of the school is the academic preparation of the highest level, corresponding to the British standards of classical education. The teachers and administrators do not forget about the comprehensive development of the personality of each child - there is a huge number of sports and creative electives, studios, workshops clubs, so that each student will be able to show their talents and find something to their liking.
The total number of students reaches 626 people (of which 37 are foreign students). Boarding school is accepted mainly at the school, but there are also students on the day-boarding board (120 people live permanently in the residences). Thanks to membership in the organization The Headmasters 'and Headmistresses' Conference, the institution can provide students with the best conditions for living, recreation, leisure and studying on campus.
Separately it is worth noting the preparatory (primary) department of Prep School - this is full-time education for pupils of 3-11 years (now the department works for 126 young students).
A two-year course is designed for pupils of 14-16 years (grades 8-9), preceding the Sixth Form graduation courses and marking the receipt of incomplete secondary education. The curriculum includes both compulsory and optional subjects (students can choose independently) - only about 10 disciplines, at least half of which are surrendered in examinations. Academically complex and in-depth program is designed for high school students 16-18 years old, wishing to qualitatively prepare for entering the university. Students completely independently make up their curriculum: for the first year (AS), usually 4-5 priority subjects are chosen, on the second (A-level) there are only 3-4 of them, and they already give up on the exams. For pupils who have chosen full board basis, there are 3 comfortable residences in the territory: two men's houses and one female residence. For senior pupils there are private bedrooms, students of junior and middle classes occupy rooms for several people. Each residence provides students with all the amenities: a sufficient number of toilets and showers, cozy living rooms, kitchens with home appliances and equipment. The pupils are constantly looked after by the teachers (Housemaster and Housemistress) and their assistants: the employees are always ready to help the children in solving any issue.
The meals are organized in a spacious school cafeteria: three times a day (full board) students enjoy tasty and healthy dishes, lots of fruits and vegetables.

The school choir and orchestra are very popular among pupils, several music collectives, and the most gifted schoolchildren can perform solo and engage with teachers individually.
For senior students, a set is opened to the United Cadet Corps (CCF), you can participate in the competition for the Duke of Edinburgh Prize.

The school campus is very beautiful, made in the traditions of classical architecture, has a unique historical flavor. The territory has its own medical center, educational and administrative buildings, residences for children and employees, as well as for full-time students and a part-time boarding house (only 5 houses). Separately located the Center for Art and Design, the theater and music school, as well as its own church and CCF building, a large swimming pool.
The sports equipment of the school fully corresponds to high modern standards - all without exception the British schools are known for their attention to the physical development of pupils. Children can practice on numerous fields for team games or in an indoor multifunctional sports center, practice in the pool or at a boat station, attend athletics tracks and cross-country tracks.

Applicants must provide a report card from the previous place of study with grades for the last 2 years, as well as a certificate of knowledge of the English language (IELTS 4.5-5.5). In addition, they are waiting for entrance examinations and interview.
