Summer course of English for foreign students

The summer English course provides 15 academic hours weekly, aimed at the integrated development and improvement of all basic, basic skills:

  • Grammar
  • Reading
  • Auditing (listening comprehension)
  • Vocabulary (active expansion of vocabulary)
  • Written speech
  • Oral speech (spoken English)
  • Phonetics (correct pronunciation, accent correction)
  • Improve communication skills.

Particular emphasis is placed on the development of communication skills and spoken English.

Before the beginning of the education, all students undergo an introductory testing, which distributes them to the appropriate group according to the initial level of education and knowledge, so that both the beginners (Elementary) and the advanced students can attend the summer course.

Groups are recruited in small groups of 13-15 each. Teachers build the learning process in such a way that students constantly check and sharpen theoretical skills on practical examples and tasks. Help in the education and lessons of a special format, integrated into the curriculum:

  • Preparation for excursions: teachers come up with various assignments, texts and quests, so that students can better study places and cities during weekly excursions
  • Studying culture and design work: each group of students (there are individual and twin projects) is given a task in the field of culture - this can be a full review or the creation of a journal article, a school newspaper, etc.
  • Internet lessons, in the course of which students on the Web search for materials for their projects, prepare for their presentation to the group and the teacher.

The standard course can be supplemented with lessons in preparation for Trinity Exam (+4 profile lessons per week), and those who wish can take exams at the end of the course (exam fees are paid separately) and receive an international certificate of Trinity Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE). Also the course can be supplemented with excursions and trips, activities on the campus (Explorer program: +1 evening and +1 day activities during the week).

At the end of the education each student receives a corporate certificate, indicating his successes and achievements, recommendations of teachers on further development and education.

The summer camp works for students 10-15 and 16-17 years old. The cost of staying in the camp depends on the chosen program (the price is indicated for 1 person for 1 week):

Prior Park College Summer School - Summer Camp Churchill House is a good place to spend an interesting and useful summer vacation for students from all over the world. Here the educational organization Churchill House works, since 1971 it offers balanced year-round and seasonal programs for foreign students: at the same time it will be possible to pull up the level of English, and get acquainted with English traditions and history, and make new friends, and just have fun and have fun!

Full board meals are rich in a variety of dishes - regularly on the table appear and vegetarian treats, on request, you can organize an individual diet (for example, for medical or religious prescriptions). Every day a salad bar is open, fresh vegetables and fruits, drinks, useful and appetizing pastries are served.

Facilities and equipment at Prior Park College Summer School Churchill House

The campus of Prior Park College is located in the famous, popular English resort town of Bath. The main building was built by architect John Wood in 1830 for Ralph Allen. Bath has always been a popular place for treatment and recreation: this is facilitated by a successful location on the coast and a large number of useful mineral springs, established modern infrastructure and ample opportunities for recreation and all kinds of entertainment.
