NULS High School leads the county and is one of the best in the country. Ninth-graders have the opportunity to join the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), and in the tenth grade, they can begin the first phase of the Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze Award Program.
For older pupils, there is a broad and dynamic curriculum that gives pupils a huge variety and the opportunity to learn new subjects, building on their work in primary school and preparing them for success at GCSE and A-Level.
Sixth Form

Newcastle-under-Lyme School (NULS) is a private day school for children from 2 to 18 years old.
The institution came into being from the merger of the old Newcastle High School with Orm Girls' School. It is owned by the Conference of Directors (HMC).
NULS is one of the top 100 schools in England for A-level results and a record GCSE pass rate in 2020, and was named one of the top 10 independent day schools in the West Midlands by Times Parent Power magazine in 2022. In March 2020, NULS Kindergarten, Prep School, High School, and Sixth Form passed the full Education Quality Review.

In 2020, pupils' GCSE performance surpassed all historical school records and reached an exceptional 74% among pupils in grades 7 to 9. The A-Levels results for 2022 were the best in the county and broke historic records in the school's state exams, with 83% with A-B grades at advanced level and 61% with A-A+ grades.
NULS provides quality career information and practical guidance at every stage of education. Progressive principles of career growth have been introduced into the school curriculum, which are fully consistent with the basic values of the institution: aspiration, determination, respect and kindness. This program is designed in accordance with key industry standards, for the period from 7th to 13th grade.
