The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is an independent postgraduate institution that provides hands-on education to more than 700 students per year. The minimum age for NFTS is 18.
NFTS was included in The Hollywood Reporter's 2021 ranking and was ranked among the top 15 international film schools. As one of the leading film schools in the world, NFTS operates as a large studio and has state-of-the-art production equipment to create quality content for film, television, games, animation, and design.
In 2018, NFTS was awarded the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema and the Queen's Jubilee Award for Higher and Continuing Education.
NFTS has been an operating film studio for over 100 years, in 2021 it celebrated its 50th anniversary at Beaconsfield Studios.

Things to know about
The main stage of the NFTS was part of the original Beaconsfield Studio, built in 1921. The 7,000-square-foot space is an incredible resource for students and their hands-on activities.
Among the works of NFTS alumni in 2023 were such box-office blockbusters as Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fate, Napoleon, Wonka, Barbie, Oppenheimer, popular TV shows such as Lord of the Air, The Crown, and Doctor Who.
Accommodation, meals, prices
NFTS does not offer students residences, they need to find an apartment on their own, however, thanks to NFTS's connections with local landlords and agencies, the administration of the institution can provide assistance in finding housing in the vicinity of the school. When an applicant receives an invitation to the course of their choice, they immediately get access to a private Facebook page, where listings and ads of housing are published along with the contacts of other NFTS students.
All students are offered a daily complimentary breakfast with tea/coffee, which can be ordered in the academic buildings.
Activities National Film and Television School
"Springboard Week" or "Rookie Week" is an annual event held at the end of January to admit applicants to NFTS . Over the course of five eventful days, a number of formats take place: master classes, conversations with industry leaders, exciting practical seminars, and communication with future classmates.
NFTS students have access to free weekly movies that can be watched at one of two state-of-the-art cinemas.
Weekly yoga classes are organized on campus.

Facilities and equipment at National Film and Television School
Students have 24/7 access to Meta's Workplace, an essential online tool that helps them stay up to date and connect with other students and staff. In addition, NFTS has:

Admission dates and extra charges
The academic year consists of 39 weeks, with the dates of each semester changing slightly each year. Students have holidays three times a year:
- Easter: approximately two weeks.
- Summer: approximately five weeks.
- Christmas: approximately two weeks.

Enrolment process
- Apply online. This can be done until 11:59 p.m. on the day of the application deadline.
- Payment of the application fee (for Master's courses).
- A waiting period for application evaluation from NFTS educators and industry experts.
- Invitation to an interview; For some courses, the interview may be supplemented by a test appropriate to the specialty.
- For some Master's courses, a short seminar is held in August, after which the final selection of students takes place.
Perspectives
The employment rate of NFTS graduates is over 90%. Former NFTS students achieve the highest level of success in their field, winning Oscars, Emmys, and BAFTA and receiving hundreds of nominations.
NFTS students and alumni take advantage of the Bridge to Industry program, which is designed to promote young talent: the program provides the opportunity to create short films, films, and promotions with NFTS industry partners.
Prior to graduation, students are encouraged to participate in a special "Work Readiness Week" with a program of activities designed to help them set the stage for future career growth. These sessions can include information on managing finances, networking, building a resume, finding an agent, and setting up dedicated social media channels.

Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English: Currently, NFTS does not require applicants to have a certificate of English proficiency, but this can always change according to the new immigration rules.
