The large and well-known Mohawk College is famous primarily for its excellent infrastructure and the broadest technical capabilities: it is one of the best universities in Toronto in the province and Canada for equipping the scientific and technical base. What are the most popular majors among students currently?

Business remains popular, but engineering and IT are quickly gaining ground. STEM fields are seen as advantageous not only for education in Canada but also for gaining professional experience, especially with the post-study work opportunities they offer. The pandemic has also sparked increased interest in biological and chemical sciences.

At Mohawk College, learning takes place using a hybrid approach that combines in-person classes on campus with online learning. This format gives students flexibility: they can study materials through a digital platform without losing the opportunity to participate in hands-on classes.

Depending on the program and course, studies can be fully in-person, fully online, or in a blended format. Online classes are conducted through the MyCanvas platform, where students get access to lectures, assignments, and learning materials, and can interact with instructors and classmates.

Mohawk College ranks highly among Canadian colleges for applied research. In 2025, the college and its research division IDEAWORKS took second place in Canada and first — in Ontario for overall research effectiveness in the Canada’s Top 50 Research Colleges ranking.

Admission to Mohawk College for international students involves several stages and begins with choosing a program. The college offers various study options — diplomas, certificates, and professional courses; popular programs fill up quickly, so it is important to consider application deadlines.

The application is submitted online through the Ontario College Application Service: you need to provide personal information, educational background, and the chosen program, and attach the required documents (a copy of your passport, translated and certified academic papers, and, if necessary, English language test results). A non-refundable registration fee is charged.

After submission, the college verifies whether the applicant's education meets Canadian standards and whether their English proficiency is sufficient for the chosen program. If the language level is insufficient, preparatory courses may be offered — for example, English for Academic Purposes.

If the application is approved, the student receives an official Letter of Acceptance — a key document for further processing of a student visa. After that, the student needs to confirm their place and pay the tuition fees.

After graduating from Mohawk College, students receive not only a diploma but also practical experience, provided their program includes internships or practicums (most programs do). This experience allows students to develop real-world skills and build professional contacts while still studying, giving them an advantage when searching for their first job.

The college actively supports graduates through the Career Centre and the CareerReady portal: these resources help with resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, access to job databases, career events, and job fairs. Students and recent graduates can use these services for approximately one year after completing their studies, which significantly eases their job search.

According to the college, approximately 86% of graduates find employment within 6 months of completing their program. For international students, it is especially important that many programs meet the requirements for the Post‑Graduation Work Permit — an open work visa that allows them to stay and work in Canada for up to three years (or for a period equal to the length of the program).  Examples of companies where graduates work:

• Receipt for payment of the registration fee.

All documents must be translated into English tongue and certified by a notary.

Students with high academic performance and achievements demonstrating an excellent level of English can qualify for a discount of $ 500 CAD-$ 5000 CAD. The same scholarship can be given to students who are especially active in public and extra-curricular life of the college.

If you apply the package of documents until May 31, then you can be refunded the registration fee - a small bonus for students who have taken care of their arrival in advance.
