MBOU Secondary School No. 1 named after L.M. Pozemsky, Pskov

Despite the fact that school №1 in Pskov was founded and registered in 1993, it is considered one of the oldest educational institutions in Russia - in 1808 there was a men's gymnasium in the school building.

The school is interested in sports development and achievements in the field of physical culture of its students. For more than 40 years, School №1 has been cooperating with the Bars Olympic Reserve Organization.

School №1 provides students with reduced and paid meals. Benefits can be received by students whose parents or legal representatives fill out an application and supplement it with accompanying reference documents. Benefits are received by large, poor and socially unprotected families.

After school hours, students are offered additional education in five areas:

1. Natural science - the study of natural science school subjects for a more versatile development;
2. Cultural - the study of cultures and traditions of different peoples;
3. Tourism and Local Lore - the study of different cultures of countries based on geography;
4. Physical culture and sports - sports clubs and sections;
5. Artistic - painting and drawing, music lessons.

A scientific and practical conference is held annually at the school.

Participation in urban social actions develops responsibility and initiative, contributes to the education of public activity, reveals the leadership qualities of a person and their communication skills. Within the framework of morality and communicative orientation, students participate in charity events:

• "Good Pskov";
• "Give things a second life";

The classrooms of the school building are equipped with all the necessary items for teaching. In the building there is a gym for physical education, an assembly hall for events.

The academic year begins on the 1st of September. Classes are held in two shifts: lessons in the first shift start at 8:30, in the second - at 12:30. School №1 operates in a five-day mode of instruction: the sixth day - Saturday - is considered a day of "compensatory education" or a day of additional or individual lessons.

List of documents for entering the school:

• Application completed by parents or legal representatives;
• A copy and original of the parent's / legal representative's passport;
• Original and copy of the child's birth certificate;
• Certificate of registration at the place of residence.

Applications are accepted from January 31 - for those living in the territory assigned to school №1 and from July 1 to September 5 - for those living outside the territory assigned to the school and nonresident citizens.

At the time of admission to school, the child must be over 6 years 6 months old and under 8 years old.
