Summer English Courses

  • Age — from 10 to 17 years old,
  • Duration of study — from one to three weeks.

English language courses during the summer holidays are aimed not only at improving basic skills in reading, speaking, writing and listening, but also at developing social qualities, acquiring new hobbies and simply having a good time.

Programs are available in three formats: Classic, Premium and Essential. All of them guaranteed include 15 hours of language classes per week (with the possibility of attending individual lessons for an additional fee), almost daily campus events and a number of excursions:

  • Four trips to London with a visit to the British Museum exhibition,
  • Excursion to Cambridge,
  • Excursion to Canterbury, Margate resort.

If a student stays on campus for three weeks, these excursions are supplemented by trips to London with a visit to Tate Modern, Cambridge and its main museums, exhibition halls.

A two-week Premium program will include:

  • Four excursions to London (for the whole day) with entrance tickets to the British Museum, London Eye, Madame Tussauds Museum, Twist Museum, a boat trip on the Thames,
  • Full-day excursion to Cambridge,
  • Full-day excursion to Canterbury and coastal Margate.

The program for 21 nights includes everything listed above, as well as:

  • Two excursions to London (for the whole day) with entrance tickets to Tate Modern,
  • Full-day excursion to Cambridge, including personal time for walks, with boat ride tickets on the River Cam.

The Essential course — is the largest in terms of the number of off-site events. In two weeks, students will devote four full days to visiting London and its British Museum, two days to a trip to Cambridge, Canterbury and Margate, and 21 study days — an additional two days to stay in London, one day to visit Cambridge.

Summer English + Special Courses

In addition to the main language courses presented in three formats with excursions, you can add specialized classes:

  • Journalism (from 13 years old),
  • Preparation for an international exam: conversational speech (from 15 years old),
  • Studying English through films (from 13 years old),
  • English lessons using interactive excursions (from 10 years old).

To take elective courses, students will need a good level of English — from B1 and above. Classes are held on school days, complementing the main academic workload with three hours of lessons and expanding the educational experience that students receive during their stay at the summer center.

London Brentwood Summer Centre — a summer English language centre offering standard and several specialized programs. The courses are designed for students aged 10-17 with any level of language proficiency.

Programs are taught on the campus of Brentwood School in Brentwood, located less than an hour's drive from London. The infrastructure provides the best conditions for learning English, accommodation, and enjoyable and useful leisure time. Students representing different countries and cultures relax under the guidance of qualified native language teachers with experience in teaching English as a foreign language: they provide pupils with comprehensive support from application to departure from campus, providing them with accurate and necessary information, assistance with adaptation, and support on any issues.

Educational process

Summer center courses, class schedules and events are available in the mobile application, which also includes a personal account with individual learning information, contact details of teachers and emergency services. With the application, students and group leaders stay up to date on events and make the most of their time at the summer center.

Sport Academy, Спортивная академия

The summer center offers sports training courses in several areas: football, dancing, rugby. Under the guidance of professional coaches, students develop physical skills from any level, learn new techniques and methods to achieve the best sporting results.

The curriculum consists of four hours of training per week. Classes are held in groups of 15 people, outdoors and in the campus gyms.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Mill Hill Residence is located on the educational grounds, amidst a small garden, and offers several types of rooms separated for boys and girls: single rooms with private bathrooms, standard multi-bed rooms with access to shared facilities on the floor. In standard rooms, the bathroom ratio to guests is 1:3. A spacious dining room, recreation areas, and outdoor spaces are available for all residents.

Students are provided with a balanced diet including national and international cuisine dishes. The meal plan consists of main meals and snacks served in the dining room at a set time each day, as well as packed lunches for excursion days.

All courses guarantee students a rich leisure plan: almost daily campus events, a wide variety of excursions with visits to attractions, entertainment and cultural sites in the region. Students can expect team-building activities and opportunities to meet students from different backgrounds on campus: talent shows, themed games and parties, sports competitions, creative workshops and much more are organized during lunchtime and evening hours.

Depending on the chosen course, the proposed off-site events will vary. For example, a classic two-week English language course includes four full-day trips to London with visits to exhibitions at the British Museum, excursions to Cambridge, Canterbury, and the seaside resort of Margate. If a student stays at the summer center for 21 days, these excursions will be supplemented by trips to Cambridge, a visit to the Tate Modern museum in London, the London Eye Ferris wheel and other world-famous attractions in London.

In addition to large-scale travels around the region, short walking tours of Brentwood are organized for students, during which they can explore the city, visit local restaurants and shops, and sit with a cup of tea in local cafes.

Facilities and equipment at London Brentwood Summer Centre, London-Brentwood Summer Camp

The language center is located on the 75-acre educational grounds of Brentwood School, situated a 40-minute drive from central London in the small market town of Brentwood. The campus is adjacent to extensive green areas, numerous cultural, shopping and entertainment facilities, and restaurants.

The infrastructure of Brentwood School includes:

  • Academic buildings with lecture halls, specialized laboratories, a library,
  • Residences,
  • Playing fields, team sports grounds,
  • A sports complex with a 25-meter swimming pool, gym and game rooms.

The school is located near public transport stops, from which you can easily reach London airports and its central part.

Admission dates and extra charges

Summer courses take place in July-August and last from one to three weeks (depending on the chosen start date). Students follow a busy schedule that includes almost daily English lessons/sports training and numerous campus events; several days a week are devoted to excursions.

The cost already includes expenses for accommodation and meals, airport transfer, a full academic plan and necessary learning resources, a graduation certificate and other services. You will need to pay extra for personal expenses, individual English lessons, medical insurance.

Enrolment process

Those wishing to enroll in one of the summer courses fill out a registration form and submit the necessary documents, after which employees of the summer center will provide them with complete information about the program, start dates, and curriculum. Students take a language test online or upon arrival on campus, based on the results of which they are assigned to suitable groups for study.

Acceptance of new students takes place every two weeks as part of the course, but subject to availability in groups.
