The Institute of International Economic Relations is an economic university, the main purpose of which is to train high-level specialists in the field of international economic activity and management.

Educational process

The academic year for students begins on September 1 and ends according to the calendar schedule of the educational process. Lesson schedules are drawn up for the semester. In the process of mastering educational programs, students are provided with holidays.

Faculties and colleges

The Institute of International Economic Relations has a College of World Economy and Advanced Technologies.

On the basis of the higher educational institution there are two graduating departments:

Graduates of IWES upon graduation can receive a double diploma.

Graduates of IWES can take advantage of the opportunity of a two-stage training system offered to university graduates: obtaining a bachelor's degree at the Institute of MES with subsequent continuation of training to the master's level at the RFTA of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia or at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

Activities Institute of International Economic Relations, IWES

The administration of the institute allocates a special role to the education of students. In IWES, student life is organized in a comfortable rhythm for students.

On the basis of IWES, the Student Council was created, the main task of which is to solve current problems and issues in the lives of students.

Students who want to get a competent financial education can additionally join the Investment Club, organized on the basis of the university.

Students annually visit with a tour of large industries and state authorities. In 2022, an excursion was organized for students in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Facilities and equipment at Institute of International Economic Relations, IWES

The IMES building is located in the center of Moscow: a 10-minute walk from the Lomonosovsky Prospekt metro station and 1 minute from the public ground transport stop.

The Institute of International Economic Relations cares about the comfort of its students: all 16 classrooms are equipped with computers, multimedia projectors and screens. The building has a sports and chess halls.

Separately equipped classroom for persons with disabilities (HIA). The auditorium is located on the 1st floor and is equipped with:

  • a set of office furniture,
  • Wardrobe
  • an oval table and chairs,
  • multifunctional devices,
  • computers for the work of students with Access to the Internet and access to the electronic information and educational environment.

In addition, on the ground floor there is an auditorium for independent work of students, equipped, among other things, for persons with disabilities. 

IMES has a fenced and guarded area with a car park. There is also a private dining room.

The educational building also has a room for primary health care.

Admission dates and extra charges

In IWES, the educational process is based within the framework of the semester system. One academic year is divided into two semesters, each of which lasts approximately 4-5 months. At the end of the semester, a session is held.

Due to the lack of a hostel for nonresident students on the basis of the institute, one of the main costs of the student will be renting housing: you will need to pay for food, leisure and transport. On average, future students will need to calculate their monthly budget in the amount of about $ 200.

On the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region there is a social transport card, which will significantly save students on transport. You can issue such a card in the Multifunctional Center.

Enrolment process

According to the established admission rules, upon admission, the applicant must submit documents to the admission committee for admission to full-time education in the IWES until August 24 (subject to passing internal tests) or until August 28 (according to the results of the Exam). Established list of documents:

  • Application for admission;
  • Consent to the processing of personal data;
  • Certificate of secondary general education or diploma of vocational education (original or copy);
  • Identity and citizenship document (passport copy);
  • 2-4 photos with a size of 3×4 (if you pass internal entrance exams and when enrolling);
  • Documents confirming the presence of individual achievements (copy or original);
  • Medical certificate in the prescribed form (only for full-time students and is provided after enrollment);
  • Documents confirming the right to benefits;
  • SNILS (copy);
  • Registration certificate or military ID (for conscripts);
  • Materials of entrance tests (results of the Unified State Exam or internal written testing).

Enrolment statistics

In 2020, the number of IMES graduates was 201 people. The most priority training programs were "World Economy" and "International Management".

To date, 1180 training places have been allocated in the IMES. Of these: 280 places - full-time education, 900 - full-time.

The most popular bachelor's program is "Management": 90 places (full-time) and 400 places (full-time).

Perspectives

According to statistics, out of 122 IWES graduates, 100 successfully find work. Today, at IMES, graduates can receive a double diploma, which increases competitiveness.

Graduates of IWES receive a state bachelor's degree, confirming the mastered relevant programs of higher education. To the main document, graduates are issued an international Diploma Supplement, filled out in English. The appendix indicates the qualifications assigned, the education system in the Russian Federation and information on academic performance, taking into account the rating system. 

IWES students have the opportunity to obtain a diploma from the Institute of Financial Accountants (INSTITUTE o Financial Accountants, IFA), confirming the compliance of undergraduate educational programs with international qualifications in the field of financial analytics.

The availability of these documents guarantees graduates the recognition of national education in other countries.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

When accepting documents in the IMES, the following requirements are put forward:

  • Completed secondary general education (11 grades), secondary vocational or higher education;
  • Successful completion of entrance examinations or testing (including for foreign citizens);
  • Results of the Unified State Exam or internal entrance tests. Grades obtained as a result of passing the Exam are counted if they were received no earlier than 4 years before the date of completion of the receipt of documents.

Passing scores based on the results of the Unified State Exam:

  • Mathematics – 27 points;
  • Russian language – 36 points;
  • Foreign language – 22 points;
  • Social Studies – 42 points;
  • History – 32 points;
  • Informatics and information and communication technologies – 40 points;
  • Geography – 37 points;
  • Biology – 36 points.

Entrance tests are held in the form of testing (written in Russian language). It is possible to conduct entrance tests using remote technologies.
