Escuela Infantil y Guardería

  • Student age — 3–5 years.

A multilingual and modern educational environment is created for young students. Instruction is conducted in Spanish and English, with Catalan and German gradually introduced. Each classroom has 2 teachers — an English-speaking one and a Spanish-speaking one, which helps children naturally acquire both languages.

The main approach is learning through play and projects. Young children encounter mathematics in everyday situations, learn to read using the ludiletras method, develop thinking through chess, and attend library sessions; in addition, there are music, creative arts, and physical development, including psychomotor activities and swimming.

Children are also offered emotional education so that they learn to understand their feelings, manage them, and build relationships with others.

The school day runs from 8:50 to 12:55 and from 14:55 to 16:45; upon request, an additional morning hour from 8:00 to 8:50 with enrichment activities is available.

Colegio de Primaria

  • Students' age — 6–11 years.

In primary school, a strong academic foundation is laid that helps students confidently transition to middle grades. Attention is paid not only to knowledge, but also to developing the habit of striving for quality results.

Learning takes place in a multilingual environment: students learn Spanish, English, Catalan, and German, study mathematics and natural sciences, and attend classes in robotics, chess, physical education, and the arts (music, theatre, dance, visual arts). Mathematics is enhanced by the JUMP Math program, which helps students better understand the subject and gradually improve their results.

Technology plays an important role in learning. In the upper grades of primary school, students gradually develop confident proficiency with digital tools, including iPads, and by sixth grade each student has their own device.

Some subjects, including social sciences, natural sciences, and art, are taught in English, while others are taught in Spanish. Catalan and German are studied separately: German is taught once a week in the lower grades and twice a week in the upper grades.

Learning is supplemented by programs in sports, arts, and emotional development, so that students can better understand themselves and their interests. A variety of clubs and activities are available: from skating and volleyball to surfing and taekwondo.

Colegio de Secundaria

  • Student age — 12–15 years.

The secondary school offers bilingual education in English and Spanish. The curriculum covers natural sciences, mathematics, history, geography, economics, technology, robotics, sports, art, and public speaking; additionally, official language certificates in English and German can be obtained. English is studied for five hours per week with native speakers and prepares students for Cambridge ESOL exams. German — for 3 hours per week under the Goethe-Institut program.

The dual diploma program allows students to obtain Spanish and American diplomas. Teenagers can join additional online courses in English, management, and US history together with students from other countries.

In natural science classes, an inductive approach is used: teenagers learn through observation, analysis, and practical tasks, gradually reaching conclusions on their own.

In addition to academic subjects, great emphasis is placed on debates, public speaking, school assemblies, and excursions. Students can participate in extracurricular activities, including robotics and volleyball; additional lessons in mathematics, physics, and chemistry are available in the afternoon. Teenagers even have the opportunity to obtain a motorcycle driving license!

An exchange program operates with Montessori Zentrum Angell in Freiburg: first, German students come to Ibiza and live with local families, then teenagers from Colegio Mestral travel to Freiburg with teachers.

Bachillerato

  • Student age — 16–18 years.

Colegio Mestral offers several educational pathways so that students can choose a direction based on their interests and future university trajectory. Available options include natural sciences (with a focus on technology or medical sciences), humanities, and social sciences.

The curriculum includes a wide range of subjects: mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, Spanish, English, Catalan, German and Latin, robotics, programming, data processing, art, history, philosophy, geography, psychology, economics, physical education, debate and public speaking.

English is studied for 5 hours per week with native-speaking teachers and prepares students for Cambridge ESOL exams. At the end of the course, students can take an exam at the C1–C2 level.

German is studied for 3 hours per week with additional conversational practice. The instruction follows the Goethe-Institut program, and students can take official exams to obtain international certificates.

Students who have chosen the dual diploma program continue it at the Bachillerato level. The course includes online classes in English, Government of the USA, economics, and additional subjects, alongside the national program.

In the final year of study, the main focus is on exam preparation and university admission. Regardless of the chosen track, students take weekly tests in various subjects, which helps maintain consistent preparation for final exams.  To better support academic performance, additional afternoon classes in mathematics, physics, and chemistry are available.

Bachillerato students participate in debates, sports clubs (such as volleyball, robotics), exchange programs and language internships at schools in the United Kingdom. International summer volunteer programs are also available to them. It is also possible to take training and obtain a driving license in categories A1 and B (motorcycles and cars) through a partner driving school at a reduced cost.

Diploma Dual

  • Student age — 15–18 years.

Diploma Dual allows students to obtain an American high school diploma, which is equivalent to a graduate certificate in the USA and is highly valued by universities around the world. Students study under the American education system, master modern approaches to learning, and develop practical skills that will be useful both at university and in their future careers.

The American part of the curriculum includes subjects and courses that are rarely found in the European system: management skills, digital photography, psychology, and preparation for the SAT test, which is used for admission to universities in America. Teenagers explore areas in which the USA is considered a leader: technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, medicine, science, and marketing.

The program is conducted online and is designed for a moderate workload — just 6 credits (credit units). An important advantage of Diploma Dual is that there is no need to duplicate the same subjects in two languages — some disciplines are automatically counted toward both diplomas, while key American courses, including language, history, and culture, are studied separately.

At Colegio Mestral, the Diploma Dual program typically begins in the third year of ESO, although later starts are also possible. Starting early helps to distribute the workload evenly and makes it easier to complete studies during the Bachillerato period. If the program only begins in the fourth year, a summer school is provided before the final stage to reduce the workload going forward.

The full course typically takes 4 years. To obtain the American diploma, students must choose 6 subjects: 4 mandatory and 2 elective.
