How to check the reliability of the selected airline?

Air travel continues to be the fastest and most convenient option for travel, vacation or work. Often, in an effort to save money, we buy tickets in advance, but it is necessary to carefully check the selected airline so as not to run into trouble. What do you need to check in order to fly comfortably? This is what our today's material is about.

Safety first

Each company has a safety rating, which is measured in stars (maximum seven). This rating is made up of several criteria:

  1. IOSA (International Air Transport Association) Compliance : Quality of Aircraft Management and Service. Confirmed every few years.
  2. Absence in the "black list" of the European Union : planes of some airlines have already lost the right to fly over Europe due to poor maintenance, and, therefore, increased risks for passengers.
  3. No deaths on board in the last 10 years . Only accidents resulting in the death of passengers are counted here, terrorist acts are not counted.
  4. FDA approved. Why USA ? They also have very strict standards for allowing aircraft to fly in their airspace: perfect maintenance at a minimum.
  5. The airline belongs to a country that meets all 8 safety parameters that the International Civil Aviation Organization sets out.

The company may lose a rating star if at least once flights are canceled / banned due to a security breach.

Comfort level

Of course, it is different for each company, but the parameters are approximately as follows:

  • Blankets, rugs, pillows
  • Opportunity to watch a movie, listen to music, play games on board
  • Food: how high-quality, varied it is; what are the add. opportunities (dietary or religious); it is included in the ticket or it is possible to purchase it additionally
  • Chair spacing (not less than 76 cm)
  • The ability to recline the back of the chair
  • Availability of beds in business class, comfortable and spacious seating arrangement.

Airline Ratings Service

A special service is available to everyone and allows you to find out all the ins and outs of any airline: both foreign and regional and international. History of creation, services, aircraft used, reliability and much more - use it!

Regular flights or charters?

Regular flights are considered the most reliable: even if the certificate is taken from the company of your choice right before your departure, other carriers with whom the government of the country has agreements will pick you up from the waiting room. There are usually no problems with refunds either.

Charters are more difficult, even though they are usually more affordable. Here, the government is no longer responsible for difficulties and force majeure, therefore the demand will only be from the carrier - and how clear his conscience will turn out to be, for the time being it is difficult to find out.
