Houston Community College (HCC), also known as the Houston Community College System (HCCS), is a system of public community colleges that operates community colleges in Houston, Missouri City, Greater Katie, and Stafford in Texas. It is known for the active recruitment of foreign students and a large number of enrolled foreign students - more than 5700. Its open enrollment policy, which does not require English proficiency, is supported by an 18-month full-time English program and corrective courses.

The Houston Community College System (HCCS) is accredited by the College Commission of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to provide associate degrees and certificates in 26 different fields.

There are three types of rooms:

  • Common rooms – you can share a bedroom with another person. The bathroom and kitchen are also shared with other residents from the other rooms.
  • Private rooms – separate bedroom, bathroom can be either private or shared. Other facilities are shared with other students.
  • A separate room is a completely stand-alone studio.

Most of the apartments that are available in Houston near the college are rented fully furnished.

The spacious spaces include a 3300-square-foot auditorium with a 2162 sq ft lobby, three meeting rooms (A, B and C). The halls are equipped with a modern sound system with wireless and direct hand microphones. The auditorium is equipped with four retractable monitors and a plasma monitor installed on the podium. Other equipment includes catwalks, LCD projectors, laptops, marker boards, flip charts, and large projection screens.

Recently, Houston Community College cut a ribbon in its new 37,000-square-foot STEM building on the campus of HCC Southeast College Felix Fraga. The new building will allow the Fraga campus to accommodate an additional 700 students and includes an observatory, state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, and marine simulation equipment.

The Challenger Center at HCC will join a network of more than 40 Challenger  centers around the world. Each center presents an immersive experience, including a mission control room and a space station where students work in hands-on labs, conduct experiments, and analyze data during the Challenger Center mission.
