Haileybury Astana School

The only British school in Astana, Haileybury, was opened by Nursultan Nazarbayev in September 2011. It is the partner school of Haileybury Almaty, which opened in 2008, and the flagship Haileybury in England, which has long established itself as a prestigious independent school in the UK.

Tuition fees cover the curriculum, study material, meals, extracurricular activities, local travel . If a student needs to follow a diet or doctor's recommendations, the school will prepare individual meals.

Extracurricular activities include a number of specialized sports, creative, academic activities.

School sports sections:

• Basketball (grades 3-13);
• Swimming (grades 3-13);
• Football / Minifootball (grades 3-13);
• Badminton (grades 7-13);
• Table tennis (grades 7-13).

Each student of the school belongs to one of four Houses (houses in Haileybure are groups of students, each House has its own color and dress code). Healthy competition is established between the Houses through school sports activities, performing arts and academic competitions.

• December 18 - January 8;
• February 15 – February 16;
• March 25 - April 2;
• May 4 - May 6;
• June 28 - August 31.

Also, students have a rest on national and school holidays.

For admission from parents / legal representatives it is required:

• Fill out the form on the school website;
• Student will be registered and invited for a school tour and consultation;
• Applicants need to fill out an application and pay the registration fee (for admission to primary and senior classes, provide reports on the child's progress from the previous school);
• Next, the child will be invited to a trial academic day, based on the results of which a decision will be made on admission to training (in high school, the student is tested).

Grants are awarded under the IB program, which also offers students clear directions for admission to the best universities in Kazakhstan, helping students choose their university. The educational grant covers the following costs:

• Tuition fee;
• Cost of individual training materials;
• Cost of international exams.

Conditions for receiving a grant: the candidate must be a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan who turned 16 at the beginning of the IB program. To participate in the competition for the grant, the student must complete an application and pass entrance exams in English, mathematics and selected subjects.
