Moscow University named after A. S. Griboyedov was organized on March 10, 1993 On the eve of the 850th anniversary of Moscow, the Government of Moscow decided to assign the IMPE named after Alexander Sergeyevich Griboyedov, an outstanding Russian politician, diplomat, writer.

The educational process of the university is carried out in accordance with federal state educational standards on the basis of educational programs and curricula approved for each direction of preparation.

The university conducts training in several areas at the following faculties and institutes:

• Institute of International Economics, Leadership and Management;
• the Faculty of Law;
• faculty of journalism;
• Faculty of Psychology;
• Faculty of Linguistics.

Moscow State University named after A.S. Griboyedov carries out scientific activities according to the scientific research plans approved by the Academic Council. The main scientific directions in the activities of the A.S. Griboyedov Institute are legal and economic sciences, journalism, linguistics, computer science, and political science. Research work is carried out by faculty, scientists, graduate students, university students.

Teachers and employees of the university participated in the preparation and examination of the draft Federal Law providing for amendments and additions to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, developed proposals for additions and amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Law "On Education", etc.

University staff took part in dozens of international and more than a hundred inter-university conferences, including international conferences in China "Russian literature in the context of culture of the turn of the 20-21 centuries", in Germany "Problems of ancient European history", in Poland "The word is in the perspective of a linguist and translator", as well as in conferences and seminars on various issues of law and economics in the cities of the Russian Federation. 

Every year the university publishes a collection of scientific works of the teaching staff. 

Considerable attention at the university is paid to attracting students to scientific research in the form of annual participation of students in inter-university scientific and practical conferences and conferences held at the A.S. Griboyedov Institute of Economics and Various Competitions.

Every year, students of the university receive medals, take first places in competitions: the Union of Non-State Universities of Moscow and the Moscow Region , the Association of Law Universities, the Moscow City Competition of Student Publications and Young Journalists "Crystal Arrow". 

A.S. Griboyedov Institute is a member of the Association of Non-State Universities of Russia (ANVUZ), the Association of Universities of Moscow and the Moscow Region, the Association of Law Schools.

The university has concluded contracts with companies that provide places for nonresident students to live. Students can choose an option for themselves on territorial and financial grounds. 

Moscow University named after A.S. Griboyedov joined the Association of Student Patriotic Clubs "I am proud".  

The Patriotic Center "Patriot IPPE" is actively working at the A.S. Griboyedov Institute of Economics.

The Moscow University named after A.S. Griboyedov has a summer sports school. University students and high school students are invited to classes. Classes are held free of charge in a full-time format in the following areas:

• Pilates;
• Cheer-freestyle;
• Chess;
• Stretching with pumping of gluteal muscles;
• Dances, hustle and Bachata;
• Cheer Jazz;
• Aerob.

A.S. Griboyedov Institute of Economics conducts free legal consultations for citizens.

Classes of students are held in comfortable buildings on the Enthusiast Highway, 21 and Zeleny Prospekt, 66A, postgraduate students - on kosmodamianskaya embankment, 26/55, p. 7. 

Computer classes in each building are combined into a single network with Internet access. The university provides students with free licensed software products for installation on home computers with the possibility of their regular updating, and also have the opportunity to work independently in computer classes in their free time. 

The problem of providing students with educational and methodical literature has been solved: the library is equipped with all the necessary Russian and foreign textbooks, is replenished monthly with periodicals and regulatory documents, methodological literature is posted on the university's website.

The administration makes every effort to make it comfortable and safe for students to stay within the walls of the educational institution: a student cafe, a medical center are constantly working, the building is professionally guarded.

The academic year includes two semesters:

• Autumn: September – January,
• Spring: February – June.

After each semester, students take a session. 

Holidays for students are organized in winter and summer.

For admission to the university, the applicant, along with an application in Russian language for admission to study, provides the following documents: 

• identity document, citizenship;
• the relevant document on education;
• SNILS;
• two photographs;
• certificate of recognition of foreign education (if necessary);
• documents confirming the individual achievements or special rights of the applicant, the results of which are taken into account when applying for training.

Documents made in a foreign language must be translated into Russian.

You can submit documents in person, by mail, using the electronic information system of the university through the personal account of the applicant or through the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services.

The total number of students in the INSTITUTE named after A.S. Griboyedov in full-time form is 868 people, in full-time correspondence - 966 people, in correspondence - 1261 people.

The University provides its students and graduates with assistance in finding employment in prestigious companies and organizations in accordance with the education received. 

The University establishes the following requirements for applicants for training:

• Completed secondary general education (11 grades), secondary vocational or higher education;
• Successful completion of entrance examinations;
• Results of the Unified State Exam.

Minimum number of points on general education entrance tests (USE):

• Russian language – 36;
• Mathematics – 27;
• Social Studies – 42;
• History – 32;
• Literature – 32;
• Foreign language – 22;
• Biology — 36.

University students are entitled to receive a state social and/or state academic scholarship.

Full-time students enrolled in the main educational programs of higher education at the expense of attracted funds of credit institutions are assigned special scholarships of the rector.
