Moscow University named after A. S. Griboyedov was organized on March 10, 1993 On the eve of the 850th anniversary of Moscow, the Government of Moscow decided to assign the IMPE named after Alexander Sergeyevich Griboyedov, an outstanding Russian politician, diplomat, writer.

Moscow State University named after A.S. Griboyedov carries out scientific activities according to the scientific research plans approved by the Academic Council. The main scientific directions in the activities of the A.S. Griboyedov Institute are legal and economic sciences, journalism, linguistics, computer science, and political science. Research work is carried out by faculty, scientists, graduate students, university students.
Teachers and employees of the university participated in the preparation and examination of the draft Federal Law providing for amendments and additions to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, developed proposals for additions and amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the Law "On Education", etc.

Computer classes in each building are combined into a single network with Internet access. The university provides students with free licensed software products for installation on home computers with the possibility of their regular updating, and also have the opportunity to work independently in computer classes in their free time.
The problem of providing students with educational and methodical literature has been solved: the library is equipped with all the necessary Russian and foreign textbooks, is replenished monthly with periodicals and regulatory documents, methodological literature is posted on the university's website.
