The International Baccalaureate (IB) program takes pupils from the age of 14. Conditions of admission:
- The success of testing 4.5 IELTS;
- Passing of an oral interview at school.
Those children who are not allowed to enter knowledge or age on IV, Ashbury College offers to pass the Pre-IB preliminary course. This course not only improves conversational and academic English, but also offers students the study of exact, humanitarian and natural subjects.
Pre-IB students take English as a primary or second foreign language course, information technology and business, science courses, physical education, Canadian history, French or Spanish, theater, math, art, music.
On the program IV of the 6 required subjects, half are taught with standard study, and half - thoroughly and intensively. The creative and social components of the program are also evaluated during the studying. There is an independent preparation of the project, participation in sports competitions and the passage of the course of the bases of knowledge (methods, means, methods of studying science).
Ashbury College divides a complex of subjects into 6 groups on directions. The first group included languages:
- The native language of the schoolboy;
- English + literature;
- French.
Those who chose the second group will focus on studying French or Spanish. It is admissible to study from low to more advanced level of ownership. The third group can choose the humanities, who want to pass the economy, the patterns of conflict development and historical science. Ashbury College has modern on-campus residences for boarding students, reducing travel time to and from school. One or two students live in each apartment. Each room has a bathroom and shower, and each residence has a kitchen and lounge. Staff supervise the residences around the clock.
Boarding students receive full-board meals in a spacious school dining room. Lunch is included with all summer camp registrations. The dining room serves a variety of healthy meals and supports special dietary needs.

Activities Ashbury College
Ashbury College offers cross-country ski training and has a professional team. The school is a short distance from Gatineau Park, which has many well-groomed and illuminated trails for training. One team competes at the highest level, while another focuses on recreational skiing.

Participation in co-curricular activities is required for students in Grades 9–12. Students in Grades 9 and 10 participate in all three terms. Grade 11 students participate in two terms, and Grade 12 students participate in one term.

Enrolment process
For Senior School day places, it is recommended to apply well in advance, as early as September — competition for places is quite high. The number of places in Years 10 and 11 is limited, and admission to Year 12 rarely occurs. Boarding applications for Years 9–11 are considered on a rolling basis, but places are usually filled by March.
In Junior School, the first round of admissions takes place in December — for families who applied in October–November. From January, applications are accepted at any time, and for a fully completed application the school usually gives a decision within a week.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
Admission to Senior School is open for day and boarding forms of study. Boarding is primarily available for grades 9, 10, and 11, with a limited number of places in grade 12.
In Junior School, admission is offered for grades 3, 4, 6, and 7; applications for grades 5 and 8 are kept on file in case vacancies arise. In grade 7, a limited number of places are available in the French-language class (French Social Studies homeroom).
All non-residents under 18 studying in Canada are required to have a Canadian custodian. For students without relatives or acquaintances in Canada who can fulfill this role, the school works with the organization International Student Guardianship Canada (ISGC).
Vaccination requirements: students must have up-to-date vaccinations in accordance with the standards of the Province of Ontario; in the absence of supporting documents, the local public health authority (Ottawa Public Health) has the right to suspend school attendance. The school also recommends maintaining current vaccination against COVID and influenza.

Ashbury's financial aid program includes Merit Awards and need-based Bursaries. Bursaries are available to students in Grades 7–12 and are awarded based on demonstrated financial need, sound scholastic achievement, good character, and the capacity to contribute to school life. Review about Ashbury College
My daughter has been studying in Canada for several years now, she is completing the high school program and is preparing for entering the university (either in Canada or the USA).
Why did we choose Canada? Because it is a beautiful, well developed and nice country. Not as expensive as studying in the USA or in England, and at the same time quality is not worse - many prestigious schools whose diploma is highly respected.
Why Ashbury College? As I said, the school is prestigious, one of the best in the country. Plus they teach two languages ​​(English + French), which is convenient for the future. They have a program for high school students IB (so called - international baccalaureate): it's something like a unified international course of preparation for the university. Having passed IB, you can go to any country and any university, and you will be accepted - there will be no need to translate any certificates, count points and confirm academic performance, etc.
A school is in Ottawa, one of the largest and most developed cities in the country: we somehow did not aspire to the countryside and considered schools in big cities. Studying there alows her to get used to the peculiarities of the country.
