The General English program at CISS Toronto offers students aged 12 to 16 the opportunity to improve their language skills in a dynamic and international environment, and to be more confident in using English in everyday situations. Classes are held from Monday to Friday and are aimed at developing the main language skills: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, communication practice, listening and writing. They combine interactive learning, live communication, and cultural exchange, making learning effective and fun.
The program is designed for students:
- 12-16 years old,
- With an English level from Beginner to Advanced,
- Those who want to improve grammar, speaking, listening and writing skills, learn a language by communicating with native speakers, meet peers from around the world.
The course duration varies from 2 to 4 weeks, with students studying for 20 hours each week.
Lessons combine a communicative approach (emphasis is placed on conversational practice), interactive tasks, role-playing games and debates are actively used, allowing you to develop critical thinking and argumentation, hone your public speaking skills; work in pairs and teams. CISS Toronto is a summer educational course for teenagers from 12 to 16 years old who want to improve their English language proficiency and develop leadership skills. The camp is held in one of the best cities in Canada for youth and students - Toronto, on the territory of St. Hilda's College, which is part of the campus of Trinity College of the University of Toronto.
Accommodation, meals, prices
The CISS Toronto Summer Education Camp is located on the campus of Trinity College, University of Toronto. Students are accommodated in the residence of St. Hilda's College, located in the heart of the campus: this accommodation option allows teenagers to feel the atmosphere of university life and take advantage of all the amenities.
Both single and double rooms are available to choose from, equipped with the necessary furniture and equipment (bed linen is provided, but bath amenities must be brought with you). Bathrooms are shared, on each floor. The residences have comfortable lounge areas for socializing and independent work, a cooking area with a microwave and reverse vending machines. Free high-speed, wireless Internet is available throughout the campus.
All students of the summer camp are offered three meals a day on a full board basis. The menu is designed to meet the diverse preferences of students, offering balanced hot meals, fresh fruits and vegetables. Individual options are possible (vegetarian food, halal, etc.), however, they must be agreed at the stage of applying and booking a place.
Security is 100% ensured: the territory is guarded around the clock, access to the residence is controlled, and a video surveillance system is in place. Medical care is provided if necessary.
