The College of Continuing Education in Basingstroke was founded in 1991. Now it has three campuses - North, South and STEM, included in the list of Centers of Professional Excellence of the United Kingdom.

The educational institution is located in a dynamic town with an extensive and diverse infrastructure, including everything necessary for college students, including:

  • Catering establishments, where teenagers can have breakfast or a snack during their lunch break;
  • A variety of shops - from food to clothing and electronics;
  • Museums, an exhibition complex, several nightclubs and other entertainment and recreational infrastructure.

The city park will be an ideal place for a quiet and relaxing holiday in nature, and numerous places of interest and the diverse architecture of the urban environment will allow you to make new discoveries again and again, without moving away from your alma mater for a long distance.

Activities Basingstoke College of Technology

Within the walls of the college there are a number of extracurricular clubs that allow you to make new acquaintances, gain valuable skills and take part in various competitions. Among them:

The school is committed to inspiring and supporting its students, to give them the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in student life both within the walls of the college and beyond, as well as to expand their experience and develop the most important skills. To do this, the program is full of various activities, club life, hiking trips, as well as all kinds of social activities. Along with the classrooms, the campus has two social areas designed for relaxation, and tables for table football and tennis.

The college has a Student Parliament, which includes representatives of teachers and students. This organization engages in extracurricular activities and promotes inclusiveness and diversity.

In addition, the college has the Institute of student manager - the ombudsman, who builds contacts between peers and the administration of the educational institution.

Despite the fact that the college is relatively young, it has already managed to acquire some traditions, one of which is annual picnics in the city park. The other is sightseeing and tourist trips: for example, in the 2020 academic year, students visited London, Alton Towers, New York, as well as Chinese and Belgian cities. These are not always international trips: often students go on short professional forays to fashion shows, livestock farms, production.  Excursions are usually paid, but half of the cost can be compensated from the funds supporting student initiatives.

For students and teachers with children there is a kindergarten where you can leave a child aged 2 to 4 years.

Admission dates and extra charges

Classes are held in 3 semesters:

  • Autumn, from October 24 to December 16;
  • Spring, from January 3 to March 31;
  • Summer, from April 17 to July 10.

Enrolment process

The admission process consists of several stages:

  1. Registration on the site, filling out and sending an application;
  2. Consideration of the application by the admission committee. If questions arise at this stage, the administration of the educational institution will contact the applicant;
  3. In case of success, the applicant receives a conditional offer, which will be based on predicted assessments;
  4. After receiving the results of the GCSE, it is necessary to select a course and confirm the registration;
  5. Finally, after completing registration and application, students should attend introductory lectures and begin classes.

The College has entered into partnership agreements with several dozen UK universities, as well as with more than 400 employers at local, regional and national level.

Scholarships Basingstoke College of Technology
