Andong National University was founded in 1947 as the Andong School. In 1962, it was reorganized into an agricultural college, in 1965 into a teacher training college, and in 1991 received the status of a higher educational institution.

• Yellow colour for sincerity, truth, creativity, enlightenment, progress, greatness and mystery
• Rivers and mountains - an illustration of the landscape features of Gyeongsang

The entire educational process at Andong National University is based on three principles: honesty, sincerity, creativity.

The university has a language center: applicants or students whose language level is lower than required can improve it in a short period of time. In addition to language skills, students will delve into the history of the country, get acquainted with traditions and culture, and participate in the preparation of the next issue of the language magazine.

On the campus there are three dormitories: one male, one female and one mixed type of residence. Female students are located in quadruple rooms, male students in double rooms.

The campus consists of educational buildings, 3 dormitories, a sports complex.
